So I decided today would be a good day to change my hair color. Im going from a semi-dark brown to a blue black. Right now I am bleaching it. I had forgotten how bad this can itch and burn!

well i hope you're using quality products, a friend of mine recently went from blond to a purple black. i assume however she was using the cheapest product she could find. after like 2 weeks the color had washed out and all that remained was a kind of greyish color. made her look more maternal, but i guess that wasn't what she had been aiming for.  ;D

I use to color my hair all dif. colors when I played in bands. My fav. was the bright pink and orange with blue/purple black ends. Looked great under stage lights  Now that I'm older I just run a blonde for gray cover. I actually liked the tingling of the bleach though

Virginia feels inspired to go shopping for hair color now

I usually use Blondissima, but last Nov, I decided to get some Garnier Ash color for a change, and OMG, it turned out sort of a grey color - it was so awful that I just cried and felt horrible for weeks.  My sister was coming to visit the next day and it was awful.  So, good thing you got advice from a pro.

@Virginia - what do you use?

I wanted to go for blue with black streaks. But my job has a "no unnatural hair color" deal. Its annoying being a semi-educated peon.  :P

I use to get stuff at the beauty supply stores. (Some of my X GFs were cosmetologists) Now I just get what ever is on sale and covers gray. I'm kinda figuring what brand I like best

That sounds like a very beautiful color. I'd love to see the results.  Genevieve
