Hello Banshee.. Please go and consult your GP as buying hormones off the internet is dangerous. You can get HRT on the NHS but you do normally have to pay the prescription fee £7.10 I think it is now :s but it is much more safer doll.

you really should get a referral to your nearest GID clinic through your GP. Dependent on your location it could take a while for an appointment to come through so the sooner the better. GP's want prescribe HRT without an assessment stating that you have gender dysphoria. Also most GID clinics will not give a prescription for HRT at the first appointment.

Despite the safety aspect of buying HRT off the internet self medication can become a stumbling block for further treatment on the NHS, ie SRS/GRS. Basically the GID clinic isn't going to like it. Even if you don't say anything the endocrinologist will know that either you have an intersex condition or (the truth be out) you are/have taken HRT.

Suffice to say your GP is the first point of contact unless your nearest GID clinic takes self referrals as mine did.

i will go and get a appointment with my gp  :icon_redface: i just need hrt to to feminize my shape and start breast growth. i have been trying to find information about what the mental affects of hrt will be on me. am worried that after i start hrt my personality will change and people will disregard me for not being the the person they know.

i don't cross-dress i just need to feminize my body. if i went to see a therapist and say that i don't cross dress i just need my body putting right will he take me seriously ? i have got pierced ears and am growing my hair out to look more fem but am 6.7" and with the best intention in the word i will always look like a bloke in a dress. i just need to put my body right so i can feel good about myself.

Thanks X

You have admitted that at your height, you will not quite fit the norm for a female if you could even find a dress to fit you.  Go to your doctor, talk to him/her and ask to be referred to a good phychiatrist.  It is not a stigma, it will help you and perhaps find a solution to suit your unique situation.

Take note, doing nothing is a bad move, I tried that path and am suffering greatly for my caution and fears.
