I'm also a night owl forced by the need for a paycheck to be a semi- early bird.  It used to be almost impossible to fall asleep before 3am and I was often up till 4 or 5am, but it worked ok because i worked a 2-10pm shift at the time.  Now I have a "real office job"  working 10am-6:30 with a 40 minute morning commute, so Ive gotten used to getting up around 8:30 (ok, so its normally closer to 9 and I run around frantically in the morning and barely make it to work on time everyday).   Now I normally go to bed around 12-1 am, and find myslef unable to stay in bed past 10, when a couple years ago I could easily sleep till 2 in the afternoon.  I dont know if its a force of habit from my work schedule, or if I've just calmed down from getting older and partying and getting wasted less.

I would be completely nocturnal if I could be. I'd love to be able to wake at 7PM and go to sleep at 10AM.

I'm neither, all things considered.  I'm one of those people who would do far better with a 28 to 30 hour clock.

There are some mornings where I am up well before a 5AM alarm goes off and there are other nights where I may get to 3-4AM before realizing 'oh hell, I need to get some sleep.'  That being said, I also tend to have problems adjusting to other time zones precisely because of the habits that come with too many years of having to be into an office around 8:30AM...when I was in Californina last week, I was rolling over and was wide awake before 5AM their time simply because if I was not awake by 7AM CST, I was WAY late for the day...

I think some of this is also why I can run marathon poker sessions (not Phil Laak marathon, but certainly some 24-30 hour blocks when I was running good)...

This is exactly how I feel sometimes; there just simply isn't enough time in a day.

My natural cycle has me asleep in the late morning, with at most a nap in the evening-early night.

As Hadrian says: "there simply isn't enough time in a day"... it's such a pain to keep up with those who are awake when I'd like to be asleep :P

Sleep less.  Or, why do you think there is such a huge meth problem?
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

night hawk. I get a lot of thinking, writing, and drawing done at night. My creativity just plummets during the day. I do try to get to bed before midnight when I work any earlier than 2pm the next day though. Otherwise I just won't wake up.

While I was unemployed I would stay up until 7 or 8 in the morning, after taking walks through the park when the birds start chirping around 4am. It kept me relatively sane :P
