I'm also a night owl forced by the need for a paycheck to be a semi- early bird. It used to be almost impossible to fall asleep before 3am and I was often up till 4 or 5am, but it worked ok because i worked a 2-10pm shift at the time. Now I have a "real office job" working 10am-6:30 with a 40 minute morning commute, so Ive gotten used to getting up around 8:30 (ok, so its normally closer to 9 and I run around frantically in the morning and barely make it to work on time everyday). Now I normally go to bed around 12-1 am, and find myslef unable to stay in bed past 10, when a couple years ago I could easily sleep till 2 in the afternoon. I dont know if its a force of habit from my work schedule, or if I've just calmed down from getting older and partying and getting wasted less.
