Since a lot of people have mentioned various thrift shops, I'll add my $.02.  The best advice I got when it comes to thrift shopping is to go to the stores in the more affluent parts of town.  Even better befriend someone who works at one of those places and can tell you when the "good stuff" comes in.  Plenty of those clothes may have only been worn once (dresses especially) to a social function before being donated.  Anything else you're bound to find there will be better quality (and newer) anyways.

Incedentially, thrift shops have noted a general decrease in the quality of donated goods while the economy has slowed, of course with an increase in the clientel.

Consignment shops and goodwill!
You can find the widest selection and the best name brands if you take your time :-) I'm not really into armani though I get every label I can find, but I've gotta have my french designers such as older Vertigo and Cache pieces. I could never think to step inside a true Bebe store to spend what they ask, yet I've got a huge assortment of their clothes! All from resale shops!!!

Absolute favorite store, ever, will always be Burlington Coat Factory. It's cheap, they've got some awesome stuff, and I can actually manage to find things that fit me frequently. I love thrift stores too, but being as heavy as I am it's really rare I find anything that fits. I used to buy a lot of t-shirts offline, mainly from a shop called Angry Young and Poor (punk stuff) and SatansSideshow (bunch of different horror stuff). Unfortunately, I can't wear t-shirts anytime soon though.

Well this is a thread my Shopping addiction could have avoided... That being said, I think I go to Forever21, Khols, Target, Walmart, JCPenny, Macy's, Marshalls, TJ Max and Ross the most.

Forever 21 (my fav!!), Kohl's, TJ Maxx, and Plato's Closet, primarily.

And... er... a few fetish shops for my more goth gear.  :eusa_shhh:

I live like within 5-10 miles of all those places! I thought plato's closet was only local to around here, are you in the triangle too??? What luck that could be, perhaps we could go out to legends one Monday soon!

Lately I've been getting the most compliments about my tops from charlotte russe :-)

Oh, I actually got some pretty cool Charlotte Russe stuff at Plato's Closet for dirt cheap.  Like the pants I have to go for job interviews?  $12... friggin' awesome!

But... what's the triangle?  I know of Bermuda and little else. ;D

No, I'm pretty much a westerner through and through, but I went to college (my first time) in Baltimore.  I'm happiest in the deserts, the mountains (except in winter), and at the ocean.  The northeast and mid-Atlantic states always left me really depressed.  I prefer the lands of big blue skies and sunshine that almost never quits. ;D

Except for right now...  our weather these last 10 days can get  :icon_pissed:'ed

But on topic, there's a local boutique here that's got some really cute hats I want to check out when I get a job.  Not that I'll be able to afford them even then, but a girl can dream!  There's actually a lot of really cute and cheap stuff at vintage clothing shops too.  My favorite hat is about 100 years old and still looks gorgeous.  It's laddish, but if I do my hair the right way, it looks very girly!

And it was only $5... ;D

(*ahem* Never mind the mess.  I gutted my apartment to clean out years of crap I no longer need and am putting it all back together now)

I'm going to join many of the other posts. I love thrift stores.  I've also bought about 70% of my things on ebay.  Down side to ebay is you can't try anything on. the thing is if no one else bids on it you can get some real steals.  I also like Macy's and Stein mart.
