Yeah, T will most likely make losing the fat off of your hips easier; not much can be done about the bone, though. I tried my damnedest to lose weight off of my hips pre-T, and found it extremely difficult to lose more after a certain point. It was like my body was literally fighting to keep hold of the last of its fat reserves (~18% BF is the lowest I've ever been able to drop). I read somewhere that the female body, in general, likes to keep a reserve of around 20-30 lbs of fat (the actual amount seems to vary from person to person--probably due at least in part to genetics). Why? To support pregnancy, should it occur >.< I hypothesize that estrogen & other female hormones play a large part in this fat maintenance; once T becomes the dominant hormone in one's body, it should be easier to drop those hips (exercise likely required--though I keep hearing stories of guys just losing their hips on T w/o putting much effort in, the lucky buggers).
That said, I've been on T for 5 weeks and my hip fat hasn't gone anywhere (I've been measuring). I'm hoping this is just something that takes time and my body won't stubbornly hold onto its hip fat like it did when I was an estrogenated being. I've been working out on a regular basis (running, weightlifting) to help speed things up a bit. My endurance has noticeably increased since being on T; that helps.
And one more thing: some men do have hips. Seriously. I've met quite a few men who deposit fat in a typically female way--right to the hips.
