Virginia is def. crazy  >:-) But I never doubted you. Anyway, don't let nothin' get ya bugged out. Some shots with make up would be an interesting comparison

OK, so here are the requested comparison shots with makeup...  These are on a regular camera too so more of the face detail is visible.  I'm concerned with whether I'm using too much, too little, not right type/colors.  These were taken about 2 and a half hours after application after a dinner with friends.  I feel like the blue tint is kind of noticable on the chin in the second and third pics, but i don't know if i'm making too much out of it or not...

thanks to those who have given feedback already!

ack... sorry about the size, i didn't realize.  I'm going to shrink these and post reduced versions in a minute...

God are those big, are we supposed to download them and all have posters at our houses?

You are very pretty though dear.

no ... no posters.... ^^  they came out of my camera that size and my computer automatically shrinks them so i think they're small when they're not... I've gotten them back into non-megalithic proportions though

tekla

ahh, that's better, on the level where I was looking at individual pores, it was kinda hard to tell.

You look quite pretty! :)

If you really want some color tips, I do have some suggestions. I don't want it to sound like I'm being negative though because that's not my intention. I have a very good eye for color. Just ask Hypatia. I think the grey sweater and teal shirt look lovely on you. The grey looks good with your eyes. I don't think the turquoise hair band quite goes though. The colors don't really match, but the most important factor is the color contrast. It's too bright for the rest of the outfit. Color tones need to match just as much as shades do. It also depends on the season of the year. Depending on where you live, bright colors can be too striking when it's cold and grey out.

I still think a nice pair of small dangle earrings would finish off your look. It gives the eye something else to be drawn to. I think you did a great job with the makeup. Did you have any lip gloss on before you ate? If not, a bit of that would look nice.

You really do look great! :)

Oooh, definitely get your ears pierced.  I think a nice pair of pearl earrings would go so well with that outfit. :) And yeah, the headband is a bit bright.

I can't tell in the pictures, did you put any lip color on?  If you did you might want to try a shade darker. :)

That's all. :D I agree, the slate blue color of your tank top really goes well with your eyes and the hair color.

Sadly, I'm not out to my family and most people in my life, so piercing of ears is currently not in the cards :(   oh well.  Yah, I had a feeling the headband wasn't a great match, thanks for letting me know!

Why not?  My ears have been pierced for 20 years now.  And that was in the days when guys didn't have their ears priced, unless they were gay.  I am Trans and it seemed OK to me.

Janet

And you are quite pretty.

You could always get clip-on earrings. It's harder to find nice ones, but they are out there. Did I hear someone say "shopping"?  :icon_boogy:

I wouldn't be offended if I were you. They're thinking you look too good to be true. If you look that good straight from the camera, you've got it made, kid. We're just envious, then. Be flattered.

I don't like the headband.  And I think I'm sort of iffy on the fringe, with that hair.  Sideswept bangs might look good on you.

You also look fine without much makeup.  I think you really only need something on your lips, maybe nothing more.

And the reason you feel attacked is because you were.  I'm not really sure why either.  Is it a problem around here of people posting inauthentic photos and then asking for advice on how to look better?

Quote from: ccb138 on March 04, 2009, 08:53:09 PMI have to say I'm feeling kind of attacked right now.  I came here to get advice from people on how to best work with my features so that I wouldn't have any problems out in public, and having several people question whether my photographs are my own or I have no idea what... frankly it's embarassing and hurtful.

I'm really sorry hon. We had a poster on here not too long ago that used a web-sourced picture and passed it off as a pic of herself, and I think people are just careful of that, cause you never know who's really at the keyboard. Please don't take it personally. There are just alot of bad people out there and gender-variant people need to be careful.

I think you have excellent features, BTW. I'm not too clued up on how hair and make-up affect the face, but your facial structure is really good.

why?  What did she get out of that?  Was it a good pic?

ccb138, You definitely pass. The pic with glasses reminds of an old high school teacher I disliked. The boy mode? Uncool!

I have no idea. Susan just posted a thread one day saying that the person in question's account had been deleted because her profile photo, which she had maintained was a picture of her, was actually somebody else. I think Susan was probably playing it safe in case this person was somebody cruising the forum under false pretences for less savoury reasons.

And yeah, it was a gorgeous pic.

Hehe, I was hoping to cover the gamut of bad people - perverts, undercover reporters, drug-mule recruiters, axe-murderers, televangelists ... you know, the really scary people. ;)

I was just confused by it... The closest I ever came on here to an inauthentic photo was pasted-on hair before I got my wig, and that was out of self conciousness.  I don't understand what purpose there would be in passing someone elses photo off as your own when you're trying to figure out what to do to look better.  You have no control over someone elses appearance.

Yah, I'd prefer to be rid of the fringe too, but my forehead is the biggest giveaway for me... so bleh :(
