Established in 1992, the Sacramento Gay & Lesbian Center's annual Lambda Awards celebration is designed to honor individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, as well as highlight the work of the Center. The name 'Lambda Awards' pays homage to the Center's original name--Lambda Community Center--and to the outstanding achievements of its founders and pioneering supporters.
