MUMBAI: Members of Mumbai's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community met Independent candidate Meera Sanyal on Friday afternoon at
Lower Parel's hip club, Blue Frog. The idea was to enlist her support for their fight for queer rights. "We're not asking for seats in Parliament or representatives in the UN,'' said Vivek Anand, CEO of Humsafar Trust, an NGO that champions the rights of sexual minorities.
