Immigration officials promptly arrested the 40-year-old professional architect, with a threat from the U.S. government that she soon would be deported back to the Muslim island of Java on Indonesia.

"I am so scared. This is like an execution for me," Saraswati told the Bay Area Reporter during an interview from the Santa Clara County jail in San Jose on Sunday, August 27. "If I have to go back, my life will be over."

If you click through and read this very long article, there is a legal defense fund that has been set up and it gives more info about her background and how trans individuals are treated in Indonesia.

I can't believe this.  This is the county in which I lived until 2003.  She is a productive architect that we wish to throw away.  But illegal day laborers stand on several corners that I know of.  It gives a person pause.... at least one who really does have a sense of morals. Our nation's "moral fiber" has changed its color over the past few years. Our intolerance and corporate worship has turned us into a fascist state. And if you don't believe that, just look up the definition of facism.

I encourage everyone to go to the link in the previous post.  There's an email on the article's page where you can donate a bit to help save her through paypal. I'll list it here:

What will a 2 dollar donation hurt to most of us.  We need to take care of our own, cause there ain't anyone else.  C'mon, who will fess up a couple of bucks.  Raise your hands!
