10. All FTMs come from the lesbian community, and after transition are heterosexual. (That is, attracted to GG women.)
9. Transsexualism/->-bleeped-<- can be "cured" by psychotherapy. Transsexual men are really just very masculine lesbians.
8. FTMs did not exist until after World War II, with the advent of hormone therapy and sex reassignment surgery.
7. Female-to-Males are far rarer than Male-to-Female transsexuals.
6 Transmen seek to live as and be recognized as male in order to obtain male privilege and economic advantages.
5. All transmen exhibit stereotypically male behavior and want to be as macho as possible because they are insecure about their masculinity.
4 Taking testosterone makes Female-to-Male transsexuals much more aggressive and angry than they were before taking hormones.
3. All FTMs want genital reconstruction as the driving force of their transition, not necessarily the social aspects that go  along with masculinity.
2. Historically, all women only chose to live as men to pursue careers that were otherwise unattainable to them, to seek  economic opportunities, or to justify lesbian relationships.
1. Transmen are really just butch lesbians who change sex to justify same-sex relationships or to avoid harassment.

A very good friend of mine (MTF) gave this to me, do you think this is true?  honestly I don't think it is, but you can share your comments.

Tinkerbell,

This list is made up off of research that was performed by Dr. Robert Stoller. He did a study called Mary/Jack and derived his results that came to these "conclusions" from his studies.  In my book I do a comparative analysis " Lisa/Eric" and show completely different findings. There were many flaws in Stollers work and I think it becomes rather clear. The variables between my case study and his are as near exact as one could possibly come. Conclusions such as you listed here that do derive from the mentioned work above are why new research is so important for us to have done.

Peace,
Taylor

PS FALSE!! lol

The only one I think could be true is that FtMs are rarer than MtFs. Statistics seem to show that. Apart from that, however... yeah, the list is false, and furthermore, ridiculous. It's things like this that perpetuate negative stereotypes pertaining to transsexuals.

I don't think a person's genitalia define his/her identity, obviously. If you're a man inside prior to surgery, you'll still be a man post-surgery. Same goes for MtFs. Pre-op or post-op, what matters is who you really are, not what you look like in the mirror.

Rafe,

Actually statistics no longer show this. The new stats show that it is quite equal. But due to various factors it has appeared that there are more M2F's than F2M's.  Just thought you might want to know this.

The list is a bunch of crap. And your question reguarding the other thread is NO. I don't think they are still male. Just as I am not female.

For me, I still had the same chromosomes.  So from a technical standpoint it was true.  I still carry the XY's.  That's why I say I'm a eunuch.  But emotionally, I know differently. I've come as far as possible to become a woman. I live as a woman and I'm content with that.

I will grant each person the right to be who they want to be, who they feel they are. I will call them by the name they present me with. I will give them the right to say their piece and respect them for it.  I welcome the diversity, the companionship, the good friendhships, and the brutal intelligence so many of us seem to carry.

I believe in caring and sharing; charity and love.  They are the things we may not receive but they are certainly ours to give. Slurs and wreckless comments are always returned with a smile... or at least a wry grin.

So yes, you drew me in.  Here I am, fully exposed for brutal rebutal.

Thank you Cindi, I knew you wouldn't let your comments just be comments,  I am asking this not because I am actually evil, but because I want to know if your perspectives match, that's all. :D

Hmmmm thats what worries me Cindi.... your writing is wonderful, but one day "SHE OF THE POISON PEN" will surely be unleashed and "Suffering and Damnation" will be released on the literate masses (The iliterate will obviously not worry).

May your pen always have ink and you never suffer writers block (or Dyslexia mixedwordus syndrome)

I watched "Chicago" last night with some friends and at the beginning "The Kylie Minnoguie rendition", I could swear it was Tinkerbell flying around in the green fairy outfit.... mind I am note sure our Tinkerbell can sing and Kylie wasn't carrying a cat, so I could have been mistaken.

Love yer
