Local resident Julie Nemecek has experienced bullying based on her gender identification, and is  looking forward to gender equality if the Senate Bill is approved.

"I'm a trans-gender person, so having trans-gender protection under gender identity is very important because it is a difficult thing to deal with to begin with, and have to deal with harassment and hazing adds to the complexity," Nemecek said.
