Hi, I'm Arlene, a mid 50 ish Trans Woman.  I have been on hormones (under a doctors care) for about a year now, full time since last Sept., and in the process of deciding between Dr. Christine McGinn and Dr. Marci Bowers for my next step.
I am a business owner, and have enjoyed general acceptance in all aspects of my life, except for some people I thought were my friends, but, i think my transition has been easier than most.  I am very involved in the Detroit, Mi community and help facilitate a support group weekly. 
It's nice to have a place to come and share thoughts and feelings.  Now, if I can figure out how to update my profile and add my picture, I will be fulfilled, lol.

Hi ArleneTgirl, wow! you are moving up the ranks fast, eh. Already shopping for a an SRS surgeon  . I am 63 years old, a retired social worker and I am also a facilitator for a TS meetup group, and I also work a couple of days per week at a local woman's shelter.
