What a Christian think about a “gay” Harry Potter

You know certainly everybody about that Daniel Radcliffe ("Harry Potter") was on the move in New York often with somebody in the Drag queen scene. I don't know, because the reports are different on whether this person is a ->-bleeped-<- / Drag Queen, or is transsexual. In any case, however, this acquaintance hit headlines.
I am an eager fan of HP, have all books and all DVD at home. And I have a neighbor, a Christian. Today I would like to tell about him:

When my neighbor found out that Daniel Radcliffe got a ->-bleeped-<- friend, and he gets on with him/her well, he said that "such a thing" could only happen if somebody would occupy  "satanic things". Harry Potter and satanic? Come on, even if you are a Christian, even you can't be so stupid! Then I said him that I am a witch, and horrified he looked at me. But when I said him that every person had the right to live in such a way as he or she holds it for right; he used citations from the Bibleagainst me.
It is normal such a thing? Religious illness? Fanaticism? Or just ignorance?
I believe, if I had said something to him about my past (ts), he would have freaked out!
Or what do you think?

There are religious fanatics and a-holes in every religion, even wicca (though there they end up being called fluff-bunnies). Elitism is everywhere.
It's human nature to see things in an "us v.s. them" sort of way and this is a symptom of that.

Personally, I know a lot of christians who couldn't care less 'bout other peoples sexuality and gender identity, got some of 'em in my family, but then their aggression turns towards some other group to call "them".

Wow, talk about reading a little into a lot.  Yeesh.  Is not DR doing like Equis on B-way?  Is he not a rather famous, and very rich show biz type?  Is not the drag queen scene in NYC a hoot?  Could he not be just one more person tripping the light fantastic on the sidewalks of New York?

It's a movie, and all that stuff in it - its not satanic, its stagehands.  Its not real magic, its the magic of theatre.  Yeesh.

All the same whether Daniel Radcliffe was now only curiously on the DQ scene, or a "personal interest" exists in his company; I find, it is his matter which nobody concerns something.
However, it is something different, if people, in this case a Christian, understand everything what he doesn't understand or wants to understand as "declined by Satan ". By the way, my neighbor hasn't greeted any more, and I believe, the neighbors whisper about me.

See "Jesus Camp".  There's a whole scene about how Harry Potter is the devil and if he'd lived during old testament times, he would have been put to death.  (never mind what would happen to a female acting as a minister with short hair and wearing pants...)

I think the whole "Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe" thing is hilarious.  To me, that movie was awfully violent and full of magic to be "holy" like a lot of fundamentalists think it is.  The thing about fundamentalists is that their worlds are small and they are so scared of going to hell that they are unwilling to doubt anything they are told or to think for themselves.  So if someone says that Harry Potter is devil's work, they aren't going to read it themselves to get their own impression of it.  They'll never talk to a drag queen, a TS person, or a gay person because they've been told that these people are evil...they are too scared to actually get to know those people because they might go to hell for it.

Christians are afraid of magic, because we believe the only way for us to get magical abilities is from the devil.  God doesn't give people that kind of power.

My family accepts people into our home regardless of religion or beliefs, as long as they aren't trying to convert us.  I respect other peoples decisions and I won't be mean or rude to them because of it, even if I don't believe in the decision.

What IS magic?
It comes originally from the word IMAGINATION, and this used Mose, Christ and several others in their work. So, magic didn't comes from the devil or god, it is just energy. Energy is neither evil nor gut, just nergy. You can used it for "white" magic (to hlp people) or black magic (to harm people). it's up to you, not the decicion of god or a so called devil.

I think the magic christians talk about are more supernatural.  Think about the stories of how a musician became so good, people say they sold there soul to the devil.  It's just something acquired in such a way.  There are probably many different definitions of magic.  Harry Potter magic is definitely the style of magic christians talk about, but seeing as it's just a story and it's not true, the movies aren't "Evil".  The kind of magic you talk about just seems to be a typical human ability and will not generally be refered to as magic.

Sweety, in my opinion, now that you have outed yourself as a witch you need
to watch out over your shoulder for this guy and guard your words with him
closely. From the sounds of this man's reaction to the news that, "Daniel
Radcliffe was seen with a friend", which for all intents and purposes is gossip.
His fanaticism sounds only to be seconded by his bigotry. I hear "Schadenfreude"
is a pretty popular pass time over there. Take care of yourself.
