I think once your gender markers are changed on forms like your drivers license and birth certificate then you're able to get legally married. I'm not sure on exact state laws and stuff though.

If you have changed ID like the passport you can marry the opposite sex in any state.

if you're trying to marry someone with the same gender marker, such as if your drivers license has an M on it and you're trying to marry a man, that wouldn't be legal. But if you've changed your gender markers then legally they shouldn't be able to stop you.

I have heard of cases in Florida where the marriage has been annulled because one partner was trans'.

I could be wrong here, but I think in Florida ones "birth sex" is what determines the ability to marry.

But I imagine the law also excludes a post op from marrying the now same sex as well.

You can get a marriage annulled for many reasons. Being infertile for example.

It takes being post op to have the legal ID required in most states. A BC can be substituted with a passport. Only states with gay marriage can you marry the same legal sex.

You can probably "do" it in any state. If they ever have reason to check on that marriage in some states they will disallow it. But you should do some research because laws about recognition of post-op sex-changes vary from state-to-state.

"transsexual marriages/state laws" If you do this google search you get scads of listings. You'll have to winnow through them because some deal with Indonesia, Great Britain, Australia, etc and some are decisions made in individual states of the USA.

I can recall a blog Donna Rose did about traveling as an MTF post-op who was married and how crazy-quilt the laws are in various states.

The short answer is that there is no overall answer to your question for the entire USA.
