Bowers or Suporn?

I have finally narrowed downed my choices on 2 doctors for my SRS: Marci Bowers and Suporn . For Bowers, I like the natural appearance of neo-vagina she is able to create. However, she uses penile-inversion technique which means penis size matters. and I have a small one. So, Suporn seems to be the way out coz he uses scortal skin as skin graft. But a coin has 2 sides. The appearance of a vagina he creates doesn't look as natual as Bowers' work, at least from my point of view. I am a person who ranks beauty the first in almost everything, so Bowers seems to be the choice, but after considering that I probably would need donar skin from my inner thigh or I would have (very) shallow vagina depth, it kinda makes me worry. Anyways, having a perfect appearance but no  (or not enough)usuable depth would mean sex impossible or hardly possible. It's a no no for maintaining a good relationship with my future male partner.

    Which one should I go?

From what I've heard, Bowers can also augment with the scrotal skin... but not too much as she does use that to form the labia...

I'd still recommend Bowers even if depth is an issue... she understands that certain things matter and will do her best to help you out... Also should anything go wrong, your in the states where you have legal rights... good luck with that in Thailand...  Also there costs are so close together if you count travel and all that its probably a good idea to just do it here...

But this is just my opinion...  Good luck whom ever you choose.

Why don't you book a consultation with Marci Bowers before you book surgery. That way you will know what she can do with your donor tissue beforehand and you can still have the option of going with Suporn if she can't give you the depth you are looking for. You will only be doing this once so its important you make the right choice.

If you can afford Bowers, I recommend that path. I wish I could have gone to her. A friend of mine did and the work is amazing.

Not only that but if you are in the US, you might have an easier time changing docs. My birth state is supposed to be pretty T friendly but in order to change the birth certificate they want a doctor's licensing # on the post surgery letter. Since I went out of country for mine (Thailand) I do not have that and so there is now a 50-50 chance that they will deny me my amended birth certificate, which means no gender marker change on any of my paperwork, state or federal.

Interesting.  This was my choice too but went with Bowers instead because I could afford her. Most trans girls have small penises largely because of hormone therapy. So the scrotum skin's used.  & if this isn't enough, skin grafts can be very helpful too.  Bowers does all this also.  Her saying is that "nothing is wasted when she makes a vagina out of male bits" ;)

Quoteno gender marker change on any of my paperwork, state or federal.

That is not true. You do not need a Birth certificate to change all other state and federal documents. Just a letter from the surgeon no number required.

I would not leave the country if I didn't have to. Suporn may have great results, but there is just as good here for the same amount, and far less headaches.

As far as I know, every U.S. surgeon has ways to compensate for lack of material and can ensure adequate depth. Thailand is questionable at times on this. It is also much easier to get a consult here prior to choosing a surgeon.

I have been to U.S. surgeon and there is far less headaches and better care at lower prices and better quality at Suporn's. To me cost was not an issue U wanted the best with the best track recorded I enjoyed my stay in Thailand a beautiful place.

Yes, but being stuck there is an issue.
How long were you there, how rough was the ride home?
How about if there is a problem and you have to go back...

For the same amount of money, I feel better staying here. For less money, yes, it makes the hassle worth it, but for the same it doesn't in my eyes.

The odds of being stuck there are no greater than the odds of being stuck in Phoenix.

I was there for a beautiful 28 days I would have loved to stay longer but would have needed a visa then.
I had no problems  and there are doctors here that could talk with Suporn plus I have insurance that would cover any problems.

The ride took a total of 26 hours with a wonderful stop in Japan. The plans are big so you can walk around the seats had an Entertainment center at each one and the food was good. After 28 days you can skip a day of dilation and i had no pain.

I don't think you need to stay in the hospital for 28 days after if you are closer to home. I could be wrong though. I woudl rather be home sooner and in my own bed than is a hotel or hospital in Thailand.

I did not say I was in the hospital for 28 days I said I was in Thailand for 28 days. I had a wonderful vacation and visited many tourist spots. I had meals in restaurants and talked with a lot of people.  I went shopping and learned many things. None of which I would have done at home. You seem to be a homebody who is afraid to travel and experience new things.

Yep, I never go anywhere...

I have lived in 2 countries, visited 3 others, lived in well over half a dozen states and visited about 1/5 of the states in the U.S. I have worked in radio, I.T., and management. I have also been a professional auto mechanic, bike mechanic, aircraft mechanic and truck driver. I can build a house, car engine, dig a swimming pool, ride, fly or drive just about anything.

I never go anywhere or experience or learn anything new. I guess I should get out more.  ::)

I prefer to sleep in my own bed.

I meant to say I didn't want to have to stay in Thailand for 28 days. I know you don't stay the entire time in the hospital (my mistake, my fingers were moving faster than my brain).

After recently being delcined for NHS funding in the U.K I am now looking elsewhere across the pond for possible surgeons. Any more information on both of these two surgeons would be very helpful to me.

Declined? ..... why?
If you got you Recommendation for Surgery isn't it illegal for them to do this?

I'm in the UK and the notion of getting refused funding for surgery bothers me, so I'm asking whether there was *some other reason* or whether they simply blanked you?
AFAIK, it's illegal and would be overturned by the courts as they well know!

To those who understand, I extend my hand
To the doubtful I demand, take me as I am
Not under your command, I know where I stand
