Mini one-piece dress for summer

As I like wearing athletic tights, a female colleague here recommended to wear tights or leggings under very long tee or 'mini one-piece' dress. I am not quite sure where the term 'mini one-piece' was coined, but anyway it is popular here.

Yesterday I wore a black mini one-piece and black athletic tights at my work place. Some said it looked like a evening dress. Others said it looked very feminine.

A problem is that those mini one-pieces are usually too short for my unusual height as a typical woman here (6 feet). A solution would be wearing a belt which can prevent the dress from being rolled up.

When I asked to recommend a matchable belt, one guy said my looking is already burdensome and may not need any more. One female colleague said she will bring her nice metallic belt tomorrow for me. Others said probably a white belt would be nice.

As the guy who took some photos for me has not yet sent them to me, here is another photo taken at 2:30 AM after drinking heavily with my old friends last week. The mini one-piece is for fall and winter, and it was indeed chilly at that night. This also looks too short for my height.

I'd agree, Barbie, that the tunic is too short for your height.

But it looked like the guy seemed rather pleased with his part of the piccie.

If ya got it flaunt it, at least to the age at which you ain't got it anymore.

But in this case I think you're right; there doesn't appear to be much room between the bottom of the dress/tunic and the top of your legs.

I am thinking purchasing a deep blue one. I usually wear black ones because they can tone down my feminine appearance at my work place. Of course, I wear bright ones outdoors.

Your laced stockings looks sexy, and I also have a similar one. I have a bunch of indoor photos on my hosiery. I prefer fishnet stockings, but never outdoors.

Yes, it's too short, but you sure do not look cold! (Pretty hot, actually). I guarantee you had the appreciative attention of every guy in the place. I have the same problem with wearing leggings under tunics, being 5' 11". You just have to look around for tunics and long sweaters that are a bit longer than usual. Either that or wear an elastic-waist mini skirt with a long top and you can just adjust the length, but I'm sure you've done that before.

Actually, a belt will make the dress shorter. And it won't help that much with keeping it in place. If the belt happens to slide up when you move, the dress would go with it.

I think the trim is a good idea. You have to get something that has some stretch to it. The best thing would actually be a band of knit material in a color that would look nice with the dress. A bright color would set the black off nicely if that's what you like, or you can use a more neutral color if it's for work.

Trim. I think it's good idea. Where can I buy it? I will try internet search.  I guess a trim item can also be matched with other fashion items such as skirts and tunics. Must have one.

By the way, I purchased a brown belt at ca US $5. I will try it whether it can help.

Trim would be perfect, but I wouldn't pair the trim and a belt. If you get the right belt and the right trim, I suppose it can be pulled off, but I think you'll be fine with just the trim. Maybe add a purse similar in color to tie the whole outfit together  . Also, I would'nt have the trim be more than 2 in wide. I think it would actuallly detract from the outfit.

I thought that trimmed one would be too feminine to wear at my work place, but I remember my female colleagues recommended it. A problem is guys here, probably related with homophobia.

I purchased a mini-one piece in the US about 4 years ago. I just once wore it to go out, and never in this country. It also looks short and too monotonous, but I hope to wear it this summer. I am thinking my red 5-inch high heel sandals with it. Too red? But I may attract people's attention

The red dress looks great on you. I don't think it's monotonous; it shows off your legs too well to be that. I don't usually like red, but that's a pretty shade. Love the matching purse, too.

I also loved that purse, but my dad dumped it away about 3 years ago when I came back to my country and stored temporarily my baggage at my dad's house  . There were many women's fashion items, but he just pinpointed it to dump away. I guess it looked too feminine to the eyes of my dad 

It was about $30 at Target, but I could no longer get another one in Target or in this country. My little daughter also loves PINK

Red color in my country usually represents seduction and obscenity, which may be similar to that of blue color in the West. On the other hand, blue color never represents seduction or sexuality.

Of course, red represents communism, especially North Korea, whereas blue represents South Korea.

I think I didn't like red because I didn't think it looked good on me. Knowing how much you like it, I've found a couple dresses I like. On you, however...  :*

Colors are funny, as they mean so many things to so many people, and depending on where you are it could be very, very different.

In SF, where we have a huge Chinese population I sometimes would see brides in full Western wedding dresses, but they were red.  Bright Crimson red.  I did a touch of research (I asked a few Chinese people I knew till I found one who had some connection to the older ways) and found that in China white is traditionally a color associated with death, while red is the color of joy+luck.

And red was the traditional color for 'hussy' type women in the US and England associated with 'red light'.  But since Nancy Reagan and Phyllis Schlafly its also been the color for republican women - as in the Red State/Blue State deal which came later, and I think, may in part have been due to that.
