Transgender Rights Bill H1728: "Body Multilation Bill"

http://massresistance.blogspot.com/2009/06/transgender-rights-bill-h1728-body.html

The "Transgender Rights and Hate Crimes Bill" (H1728, S1687) is once again pending in the Massachusetts legislature, now with an astonishing 104 sponsors (a majority in both houses!). The Judiciary Committee has announced a hearing on July 14, where it must be stopped. No, it's not just about men in dresses using women's restrooms. It's much more far-reaching and dangerous than that. See our lengthy study (originally published in 2008) for a detailed examination.

How is the "Transgender Rights and Hate Crimes" Bill -- H1728/S1687 -- a threat to your rights?

Wow, these people are spreading a lot of lies hoping to cast fear into everyone. What it boils down to is they are running out of people to discriminate against.

Tattos and piercing are forms of body mutilation. Especially gauged ears. The golf ball sized holes in the ears. Most disgusting. (My opinion). They are not illegal.    In many countries public restrooms are unisex. No one seems to be bothered. If a person is in a restroom it is for one purpose. If someone is there to check out genitalia that person needs professional help. So who cares what gender a person is if the purpose of the restroom visit is to take a dump and get out. It seems to me some peolple are very insecure otherwise they would not care.

Bridgette, LOL. You may be right. Who can I pick on this week? Hmmm, race,no. Religion,no. I know, those strange people who wear jogging shoes to McDonalds.

- Landlords and property owners will not be able to deny rental or sale to anyone protected by the loose phrase "gender identity or expression" – which could include groups of "swingers", sadomasochists, or even prostitutes.
What does this have to do with being trangendered?

Quote- "Gender expression" will open the door to sexual activity in public or public nudity. Women claiming to be men will expose their scarred chests (from breast removal) in public.
Because every woman will now run out and have a mastectomy just so she can go topless.

These people do not even understand what they are fighting.

Quote- Individuals and churches will lose their freedom of speech and religion to object to transgender behaviors or "gender expression," or even publicly oppose the new law.
This is the one that gets me the most though.

How is freedom of speach being harmed? Religions claim they will be violating law by preaching, so how is it that the K.K.K. still exists?

Publicly opposing the law? People oppose the law every day, opposing it, is not illegal, breaking it is.

They are spreading F.U.D. (fear, uncertainty and doubt).
The world will not end because of this.

Nor, to be fair is anyone asking for tax money to fund those things (yet).

The problem comes from aliening transgender rights with the agenda of the LGB sexual relations rights.

Churches never had the freedom to support a political cause or they lose their tax exempt status.

Close, but not exactly.  They have the right to participate in issues, but not party politics.  So they can be involved in like our stupid initiatives, but not in a pub/dem deal.  Not that its stopped them.

Simple. It takes away your right to be abusive to a minority population that you have always had the right vilify, abuse, torture, and brutally murder in the past. Taking such rights away from the followers of the god of love is unthinkable.

There's so much wrong there that I hate to say anything in defense of any part of it BUT

The reason the right wing worries about government suppression of free expression of their (wrong) religious views is because Canada does exactly that under the guise of punishing "hate speech"

Disclaimer: due to serious injury, most of my posts are made via Dragon Dictation which sometimes butchers grammar and mis-hears my words. I'm also too lazy to closely proof-read which means some of my comments will seem strange.

I don't think any of my Canadian friends would agree with you.
