I am not a crossdresser but a MTF with severe GID. I chose my name, Pamela because I knew a beautiful classy middle aged woman named Pam. I aspired to be like her and wanted a "normal" womans name which would not attract attention. I don't dress in womans clothes for fun but to feel normal.

Several years ago, when I decided that I was crazy enough to actually name the girl that lives inside me, I knew it would be a big deal. I wanted something that was classy and feminine, yet not trashy or trans-ie. I started with a list of about twenty or thirty names that I really liked and narrowed it down to about ten that I thought were pretty good. Then I looked up what each name meant and got rid of a few more. Then I decided, not sure why, that a name that matched my initials would work nicely. As luck would have it, there was only one 'J' and one 'M', so put them together and thus, here I am!
