Okay, guys... I posted my first youtube about 2 weeks ago, on my blog, and I don't think most of you saw it... but that's beside the point. However, it got me thinking, especially seeing Eryk's voice clip vid, that we might as well have a little thread where we all post a vid or voice clip of current progress. I wish I, personally, had recorded a vid pre-T, but unfortunately, I didn't have the technology to do so at the time. I'll attach my current youtube here, so if anyone's interested in what my voice sounds like at about a year on T, you can check it out. Other guys, go for it. And no, I'm not trying for a competition here... I just know how helpful it was for me, pre-T, to hear clips of how much things could change.

wow dude. huge change from pre-T. can barely believe it. really low, but yours was always kind of low for a female. wonder if that makes a difference - if how low you were pre_t determines how low you'll go?

Gee, Sebastien.  I guess I shouldn't have mentioned to the CIA where I sent those ties a while back, eh?  Sorry dude.  ;)

You sound great.  You've probably said before, but how long did it take for your voice to drop that low?

I tried to make a pre-T video/voice clip, but for some reason the mic input on my computer doesn't seem to be working.  >:(  I'll fiddle around a bit again and see if I can make it work, and if I do I'll post something here.

Hmm... my voice was at about tenor level after 2 months or so on T, and at about 8 months, I thought it was done changing... it was about a baritone. But about a month or so ago, it dropped again. Who knows if it'll keep going... but if it does, I'm going to give Brad Garrett a run for his money.

O.K.  Success!  The mic input isn't working, but the built-in speaker seems to be, so here you go.

Sebastien, your voice is ridiculously deep.  Question: are you into sci-fi at all?  Not sure why, but that question popped into my head when I was watching your vid.  Might have been the mention of light years, or my mind may just be preoccupied with sci-fi in general lately (600 pages of Asimov can do that...).

Jamie-o: it's comin' along, though it's too bad you were unable to get a pre-T recording.  Any chance you might have something lying around?  Voicemail comes to mind... six months into T and I finally realized that my voicemail was still in my pre-T voice.  Actually I didn't realize it; a friend commented on it.  Then I listened to it (holy wah) and immediately changed it.

I'm almost 8 months and my voicemail is still in my pre-T voice.  :D. I found out when I couldn't find my phone and I called it... It's partially because I'm lazy, and partly because, even though I hated it at the time, I find it to have some sentimental value now.

Actually, my voice hasn't changed very much at all.  It was always pretty low. Most of the time it sits about where it used to sit when I was really, really tired. Maybe I should do a recording first thing in the morning, and see just how low I can go.  ;D

Somewhere I probably have an old cassette from when I was taking singing lessons.  I may try to find one, and see if my voice has changed more than I realize.  Of course, then I'll have to see if I can find a cassette player ...  :icon_weirdface:

hey Jamison, did your face change on T? don't remember how you looked before, but you look pretty masculine now.

I've never been able to make my mic work. I eventually gave up and stuck it in a drawer somewhere.

Dunno if it's defective or I just have no idea what I'm doing...

*The green eyed monster rears her ugly head*

Y'all's voices sound awsome, and the looks are great too. I have come to the
conclusion that I [not love] trans-guys. Y'all get a few shots in the butt and
*WHAMMO* your voice changes, your facial features reshape themselves and
you start growing hair where I despise hair growing, huuumph...

If you want a before and after example of voice and physical change
in a trans-guy, who I think was hot before and is even more so now,
do a search for: Heather Alexander/Alex Adams.

My sisters here, who have heard me speak, tell me my voice is perfect and they ask
if I've had any kind of coaching and such but all I've done to change my baratone
is practice, practice, practice. I couldn't get some magic juice to do it for me.

Hey now, we lack the ability to change our voices without T. You might consider yourselves a little lucky in the fact that although it is difficult, the potential is always there. We don't have that option. Although when we can get our hands on hormones, I agree that it likely happens on its own.

For the most part the "Legally Prescribed Hormones" that are administered
to a Guy are remarkably effective, in comparison to those "Legally Prescribed
Hormones" administered to a Gal. Tha'sall I'm sayin', Lil' Bro'.

True, but genital surgery for MTFs is considerably more successful than for FTMs

That point is not wasted on me but with the results which y'all receive
from HRT, a senerio in which exposing said surgical alteration, to prove
your gender of choice, may never be required. The likelyhood that you
will ever run afoul of the law for relieving yourself, in the facilities
provided for your chosen gender, is between nil and nonexistent.

Did not any part of my first post come across as Playful?
If I really [not love]ed trans-guys would I have mentioned
that I thought Alex Adams was HOT?    :eusa_think: :icon_chuckel: :icon_confused2:

You're right, we do have it made in terms of outward appearance and hormones. But it is very depressing sometimes to know that I'll never have anywhere near passable male parts.  :-\
