I was getting pretty down on myself lately about my looks.  After I got my haircut, I would feel like I didn't pass at all, yet I didn't wear a lot of makeup.  Well, now that I got my new "good" makeup, I really have been enjoying making myself look better.  Also, I've lost a few pounds now that I'm eating healthier.  I figured out how to style my hair so that it looks good and once again I feel I am passing.  In fact, I am regularly wearing shoes that raise me up 2-3 inches and so I don't care about the height issue anymore.  I have a pretty good fashion sense and during weekdays I tend to dress up a little, unless I'm feeling lazy.  I just like looking fashionable, although there are a few things I haven't been bold enough to try, although I may after losing a bit more weight.  Anyway, I'm feeling much better about myself as a woman.

Melissa,

In my opinion it's vital to anyone whether they be trans or not to have good self esteem.
Melissa, I look at your photo and can't believe that you would have a self esteem issue.
Sometimes I feel the same way but I think we all do at times, the key is to know inside that all is well.
Congrats on feeling better and matching the inside to your beauty outside. :)

Oh, I think everyone has self-esteem issues from one time to another.  I have certain features about me that I'm unhappy about like broad shoulders that I pray nobody notices, tall forehead I have to hide with my hair, a belly that prevents me from wearing everything I want, muscular calves I hope don't look funny, absolutely no cheeks and somewhat masculine looking hands.  I try not to let features like those get me down too much and I try to stand tall and be confident in who I am.  However I do tend to get down sometimes.  I am trying to los weight to get rid of the belly and cheek problem and possibly the hands.  Anyways, I'm just feeling better about myself in general.

Melissa,

It is great that you feel good about yourself.  Hey most people get down for one thing or another.  However I do find talking to friends is quite therapeutic.

Also regarding your "tall is good" thread, I did see several tall attractive ladies at the grocery store the other day.  In fact if I could find several good magicians and witch doctors I might even be passable given enough time! :)

Keep your chin up and share your weight loss secrets because I love to cook and I love my own cooking!  One day I will make some woman a great wife!  How's that for optimism!  ;)

I've been wearing shoes that elevate me 2 inches, still towering above everyone and passing just fine.  That's a real confidence booster.  I was riding the train home from work today and had to stand because there was no seating room and a guy offered me his seat.  I love being a girl. :D
