sorry if this has been done before -.-

So uh...lol this will probably be a super short post. But I thought I'd start one on nail polish.

What is your favorite color of nail polish to use? Any favorite brands?

I recently bought a bottle of the new Sally Hanson's HD color polish. I haven't tried it but it looks so pretty in the bottle. It's blue colored. The blue in it looks like something from Tron @___@

I try to get polish and lipstick that matches. It looks very femme. I have found that certain brands such as Sally Hansen and Revlon will sometimes thicken and go bad. Cheaper brands like L.A, colors and Wet n Wild do as well if not better. It is hard to say which color is perferable since it depends on the makeup and clothing colors. It depends on the look a person is trying to acheive. Goth, Drag Queen, trollop, Lady, etc.

Enola Gay

I usually file and buff my finger nails - sometimes I'll do clear gloss.

Toes are a different story. I live in South Fla, so open toes rule. I usually like reds, but will do dark plums if I'm in the mood. I still have an old bottle of Chanel "Vamp" if I'm in a real dark mood.

I've noticed a lot of GGs are going silvery for summer - I may try that next.

Brands? I like OPI. It's kind pricey, but it glides on and you only need one coat.

My favorite colors are bright red or pink but for a more dressy look (i.e. wearing a black chiffon dress and night sandals) I paint my nails and toenails in silver.

Bright red, pink  or pearlized.

And I do like a good French nail.

I pretty much alternate between red and purple with the occasional orange thrown in. I don't care for light colors, so I mostly use medium or dark shades. OPI is what I use most.

I kinda forgot I made this topic @-@

My favorite brand is called "Nicole" and it also says on the bottle "by O-P-I". It chips the least but it seems kind of expensive (almost seven dollars a bottle)

My favorite colors are the punk or goth colors. Orange, black, pink, blue, red, sometimes purple, ect. I don't take care of my nails though ._.;

And I like everyone's posts ^___^ (blue is pretty, Barbie :3)

Black or very dark shades of purple/blue/red

My favourite brand is Versace, it's £18/$29 for a 15ml pot but it's amazing. Even with nail polish remover it is difficult to get rid of and the colour goes on amazingly.

It depends on the season. In the summer I prefer pastels in the winter darker colors.

My acrylics last 3 weeks. If they're done right, they shouldn't break or chip either. I got spoiled by my last nail tech where I broke 4 nails in 9 years. And given that I used to haul equipment around, unbox computers and break down the boxes, etc. that was a pretty good track record.

I will agree about the discount salons. After I moved, I had to shop around until I found a decent place, i.e. one that did them the way I wanted.

I've never been to a salon before. I just do them at home. Maybe that's why they chip within a day :/

I would love tips to keep them from chipping.

I have a hard enough time getting it on without messing it up.  ::)

It doesn't really work but I use something called Sally Hansen Insta-Dri anti-chip coating. You put it on after you're done putting on all the layers of the nail polish. It doesn't do wonders but it kinda helps

I can't remember the brand, but I do believe that the last bottle I bought was from Hot Topic (heh, needed something black fast.)  It was pretty good, didn't chip.  Bottle had a skull and crossbones on it, if anyone knows what I'm talking about.

As a guy who shops at Hot Topic once a month and owns about 8 different colors from that store, yeah :D I know what you're talkin' about
