Stupid woman at work

The most irritating thing happened at work today, I should note - I'm out to everyone at work, most are very good with the pronouns and what not.

Today I was moving boxes on to a van, I went to grab a big box of books and some woman was all in a flap at me; "That's too heavy! You shouldn't be doing that!" and I was just like, "what? I move boxes around all day" and I picked it up anyway. Then she was all in my way, trying to get me to put the box down. "don't do that love! you'll hurt yourself! let one of the lads do it! blah blah blah" - I simply replied "I AM one of the lads, now MOVE"

I probably could have been nicer about it, but she was annoying, and the box was getting increasingly heavier as I was trying to navigate around her dumb ass to get it on the van.

The hell is up with that? Even if I was a woman, why shouldn't I move boxes? I have a functioning body and am perfectly capable ¬_¬

Maybe she's just too old and doesn't understand that gender stereotyping is bad :p

I've got some stuff that needs moving about

But seriously, it is annoying when someone tries that stuff. Not only are they pushing their opinion on you. They're trying to tell you what to do  :P

Someone wanted me to lift something heavy for them. When I said sorry, but I can't lift it....They replied... What a big strong man like you? I forced a smile and said... I have several injuries and am very weak. Not only that, I'm rather fem. if you hadn't noticed. That shut them up

Stuff like this drives me insane ::) somebody wanted some boxes moved to another store yesterday aswell, I offered to help and they said "Nah I'm ok on my own"

Then five seconds later I saw them asking two other guys that work there if they could help with the boxes.

One of which is a super skinny guy who can barely lift his arms, never mind a box. I would have been a much better option

Yeah, makes you wonder who has the gender issues  ??? You or the conditioned drones of society :P

I'm on the other side of the equation and I'm glad that nobody expects me to lift anything.
My strength is very much reduced and even lifting a 12 pack of Coke is an effort.

Still, there is a woman here who loads her handtruck as high as any guy here.

I get that a couple of times a day where I work.  The customer will explain that it is very heavy, usually a TV or old microwave.  Some even get in the way and make it harder to move the items.  When needed we use 2 people to lift the "really" heavy items out of their vehicles.  We even bring in a forklift sometimes.  But, I can sympathize with what you are saying.  By the way,  we have males and females doing the same work here.  dyLen

None of the women at my place ever help with loading/unloading, they stand around drinking tea and getting in the way for the most part. Seriously, it's delivery time and they choose this time to stand outside on ->-bleeped-<- break right in the way of the door. I have to wonder if they do it on purpose sometimes.
