Was it you shades who had the topic about shaving and shaving rash?

Just thought I would mention that I recently brought a gillette 'venus breeze' in shower shaver. Best shaver I have ever owned. I used to get a lot of shave rash particulalry on upper legs and chest, but using this razor has made a huge difference. I don't know what it is about it but it works really well. Fantastic, convenient, no mucking about with shaving foams and lotions.  It is a little bit pricey, but it seems to be lasting quite well. I've used the same blade to keep most of my body hair free for about 3 weeks now (2 to 3 times a week). Still going good.

Moisturising after and exfoliation also has made a big difference.

Is that a sales pitch or what?  ;D

I second that recommendation!  The Venus is an excellent razor, whether you get the one with the stuff on the blade or a regular one where you have to use a shave gel.  Best razors I've ever used!

For me I use the gillette fusion one with the five blades which is pretty good in itself.  I would totally suggest going to one of those sex parties and get this stuff called neude.  It is the best cream ever. No rashes or bumps or anything.

...Yep...That's a sales pitch.  ;)

.....and the next offer of the day is....... ;D

...actually I always found the biggest problem with body hair, was clogging the razor blades with Hair/dead skin....That changed the angle of the floating blades just enough to cause shaving rash...shaving in the shower after using an exfoliator scrub, with regular "tapping" and rinsing of the shaver head solved the problem...so I still get away with a "cheap" 2 blade razor.....that's when I'm not plucking mad (epilating)... ;D

The last time i shaved the legs I used a mach 3 razor and some "edge" shave gel that was specifically formulated to guard against nicks and cuts. It worked really well, I had no cuts or razor burn at the end of it.

Yeah, it was me who started the whole rash thing. Or, at least one of them.

I've been using a Gillette Fushion, a 5-blade razor. I haven't tried the Venus yet.

So, the process seems to be:

1. Exfoliate
2. Venus Breeze
3. Moisturize

I've been using Mach 3 razors for a number of years now. Actually, I have two of them. When the blade in the one I use to shave my face begins to seem dull (or draws blood) I put a new blade on it, and move the old blade to the other razor that I use exclusively for legs, arms, privates, etc.

Back when I first started shaving with razors I'd have probably cut myself to ribbons using such tactics, but the skin seems to adjust to such mistreatment over time, so basically I get good, close shaves - and good razor economy - with relatively little bloodshed. (really!)   :icon_chainsaw:

I've thought about maybe upgrading my little system to a couple of four-or-maybe-five-bladed razors, but I can't help but wonder at what point the increase in the number of blades starts hitting the point of diminishing returns.  ::)

I've decided to buy an epilator and give that a go. If it works well, and many people say they do, it will be much better than shaving all the time.
