What do you wear to work?

I am starting this little question based off of the post https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,6475.0.html which I wondered what others wear to work. I am an androgyne that is going to replace some worn out clothing for something nice. So I was just wondering what everyone on the boards was wearing across the spectrum.

If you dont work, what did you wear when you worked. If you are disabled or dont work, what would you wear.

this is an easy one.....
Executive chef!  But my pants are more colorful than the black or checks I have about 25 pairs of patterns and so forth food-fun related.
There are often days where i wear a suit / business dress (shirt-tie).  Company i work for has a fairly strict uniform policy!
Under it, like what would i wear under it?  Hmmmm imagine being burned badly taken to the ER and have pants removed to show lace panties?  Hmmmmm
Or have someone put arm around you and feel bra strap.. Not Good!
Maybe its just me and maybe i helped to put myself here but i feel like i live in a box?  Maybe that's why i like the outdoors so much!  Lots of space and freedom!
small amounts of people?

I am in by-law enforcement and we all, female and male' wear same uniform and dress uniform. There are no differences at all. However, I wear either tights or pantyhose under unless I am working in a warm area then I wear stockings and panties. And under my shirt I wear a bra always. As well, I wear a pair of woman boots but they aren't noticeably feminine. In other words I dress as me

I'm jealous... (hmm i guess my uniform is sort of either sex)I mean i have the clothing and stuff, just do not have the pieces of the ladder put together to cross me over!  Non-transitioning to me does not mean i cannot feel feminine or try and be that way but i have so many family and work issues that i tip toe around its better to just draw a line and be done with it.
I've gone out quietly dressed, and lounge around in a mixture of clothing, but my time and moods also depend on these things!  I do some very specific functional things, hobbies, sports, etc where the outfit although maybe male type can be mixed up some but not much som due to conformity with the team or group, others due to safety, etc.
although i have talked to many non ts people who ski to find out guys have worn pantyhose or tights under their ski bibs.
Ahh you see there is hope in the world?
What about employers and finding out about these things some are supportive some are not my employer is actually very very supportive of human rights and suff but co-workers are another story!

You know, I was gonnna reply to the other post, but since I didn't want to be all about me there, I guess I can here. :)

I work for an insurance company. Thank the gods that I don't have to wear a tie. I do, however, have to wear "business casual" clothes, which consists mostly of polo shirts/slacks. As someone with a fluid gender identity, this is kinda frustrating. It's mostly on my part because I don't have any clothes that suggest me being anything other than male. :-\ I guess the feminine part of me comes out in the way I present myself (Everyone thinks I'm gay. It's only half true.). I've also decorated my "office" with vines from craft stores, stone gargoyles, posters, toys, etc. It's not just the clothes that make the impression at work. ;)

When I was working I wore typical everyday womens jeans, top's (I have several) not very feminine (could be worn by ether gender) and of course panties and hose. I also wore womens boots that didn't really look all that feminine. I wasn't noticed much at all. The few that did already knew of my position and were good friends that understood. That all ended when I was let go. I still wear the pants and panites. The pants don't look feminine but they fit me nice and I know they are womens and that gives me a good feeling.

Love being female

Polo shirts and khakis (required). Normal guy stuff underneath, no panties or anything.

I'm not much into jewelry, but I'll occasionally wear a ring, necklace, or bracelet of some sort. Not so much ornamental as magical/symbolic in nature - faeries, seven point star, ankh, etc.

Woman's watch and glasses. The watch mostly just fits best, as my wrists are frighteningly thin. And the glasses were actually suggested by the woman at the eyeglasses store years ago... no idea why... nor did I argue ;)

With the getting-long hair, shaped brows, and nearly gone beard, for the life of me I don't know why no one comments. I'm beginning to think I can walk in after FFS and breast implants and no one will notice.

Jeans shorts (they're women's cut but I'm not sure anyone would notice), T-shirt (preferably not one that's too baggy - I like to show off just a little, haha), panties but no bra (yet) and Birkenstock style sandals.

Kate, that is so neat about the glasses! I just recently got my new feminine frames and I'm wearing them to work already. I may even try wearing a headband (really helps keep my long hair out of the paperwork).

And women's deodorant with a handmade musk perfume oil. Umm... now I'm wondering, am I sure I'm not already fulltime? :P

I love my work.....

I am a consultant and my days either consist of business meetings with Directors and CEO's (for which I basically power dress, nice skirt suits, blouses, get my pearls out and do my hair and make up).

If I am training I dress more conservatively, will always wear trousers and a jacket and reduce the amount of make up and jewellery (I won't people to concentrate on the word / presentation, not my ear rings or at worse boobs.

Today, I am working on a plant, so I have a T-Shirt, Jeans, hard hat, safety boots and flourescent jacket.... But I actually like the casual side of the job.

OOO, scents: my gemini weakness (airy stuff) ;)

That sounds delicious! I have Nag Champa body lotion which I really love for those musky moods ;) Handmade perfume oil must be heavenly though! May I ask what's in it?

Otherwise, I'm an Issey Miyake (the original scent) addict. It's magical, it just melts me, it's like my kryptonite, lol..

I work in the IT industry.  Right now it is just basic user and network support, kind of a Jill of All Trades.  However, that may be changing as I start to shift my career focus to security.

Right now I can get away with jeans and a t-shirt but I do tend to wear slacks and a nice T shirt.  On occasion I do wear skirts and nice tops.

Julie, it does sound like you are skirting (LOL) with fulltime.  I did the same.  A friend of mine at the time said that I went fulltime a year before I told anyone.   ;D

I wear all kinds of things. Sometimes it's jeans and a nice blouse.  Sometimes it's a little more dressy like today.  Right now I'm wearing a feminine T-shirt w/ lace, a skirt and tights (because it's so cold outside).  It more depends on the mood I'm in, but I'm happy with how I dress.  It seems to work out fine, because I never get any funny looks, just smiles from people.

As far as I know it's just musk scent in carrier oil. :)
