In Singapore, fans recognise her from her unforgettable turn as the wail-a-minute Aunty Abigail in erstwhile TV sitcom Under One Roof 11 years ago, and, more recently, as a lonely ghost in the Channel 5 comedy series Maggi And Me.

Chatting with the writer at a cafe, passers-by try to glance askance at her discreetly.
