27 charged with prostitution in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY - Police arrested 27 people Friday night and early Saturday morning as part of a prostitution sweep along Pacific Avenue, including at casino hotels and lounges, said Detective Sgt. Rodney Ruark.

Detectives went undercover before making the arrests, netting 24 women and three transsexuals ranging from ages 19 to 57, Ruark said. Those arrested were mostly from New Jersey, including Atlantic City, Absecon, Mays Landing and Pleasantville. Some of the women came from as far away as Texas and California.
