Cabaret in East London, With a Twist

Yet at the end of a murky industrial road, in a warehouse that once produced Burberry knockoffs, Bistrothèque (23-27 Wadeson Street; 44-20-8983-7900;
www.bistrotheque.com), which opened in 2004, has become the top venue for culturally challenging gourmet food and cross-dressing singers who put on a very intentionally over-the-top weekly shows.
