I know you guys love being annoyed by these, so here you go.

Yes, I know I don't pass for squat. And yes, I know I should never wear a hat backward...but I stil can't figure out the best, masculine way to wear my hair, as its annoyingly wavy and tends to fluff.
This is more of a ,"can you spot WHY I don't pass" thread. For reference, I'm 22, and hoping to eventually be clocked at least 18...

Yep, you'd pass on any street up here.
Would probably get carded "everywhere" though.

Your lower face is too feminine. And something about your eyes. The bottom picture looks better so keep your hair like that.

For me the earings seem incongruent. Maybe if you had something a bit chunkier, with ball closure. Plain hoops are not the most masculine earings you can have. Guys seem to go more with stainless steel too. (they do in my parts anyway - ignore this if it is not that case in your parts)

What if you wore the hat forward?

You are still somewhat softish looking for a guy your age, but not that different from the inactive teenaged playstation generation - facial hair would go a long way.

Otherwise from your pic I would think young teenage guy.

the earrings are actually ball-closed...but small gauged. Was thinkng of increasing the gauge.
The hat was actually part of my work uniform. I didn't want to look like a dork with a chicken on his head so turned it :D
And yeah, I need to work out more...right now I average about 9 hours a day on the computer...

To me, the way you're bugging out your eyes in the first pic makes you look a bit girlier.  :P

But overall, you do pass...  Except that you do look young.  Like, 14-15 year old boy at the oldest.  :-\

It's the thin eyebrows and earrings mostly. I disagree with Silverfang, I believe that if you wore your hair down, it would help more. There's just something about the hairline/forehead that says female, I think it's the lack of a prominent eyebrow-bone whatever that's called. And the hat is hideous, don't wear it at all. Get a buzz if your hair is that bad, plenty of guys deal with wavy hair.

I strongly recommend that you drop the earrings.

Other than that, you are likely to pass at least part-time as a teenage boy, especially if you back it up with a masculine name and your lowest available voice.

On a more general note, don't be too surprised if the gay boys hit on you.  You are very attractive, and you'll be told so in several ways, if you pay attention.

While it is entirely possible that your enemy entertains some irrational prejudice against you, for which you bear no responsibility... have you entertained the possibility that you are wrong?

And yes, I know I should never wear a hat backward.

For reference, no one should wear a hat backward unless they are playing catcher in a baseball game, and even then they better be in full gear.

And drop the earrings, unless they are big diamonds on a real big guy, like NFL big, they scream fem.

i have to disagree. small gauge CBRs can look very masculine, but you have to get a small diameter so they barely extend past the ear itself; at least that's what i see "average guys" wearing.

If you're trying to draw attention away from feminine features, its best not to accessorize them.

Myself

The first picture, I don't know if you pass, but maybe to the un-trained eye.

Second picture a bit more but there are mot angles in life.

I agree about the earrings, probably get rid of them.

The hair is ok I think, many guys just don't handle it or put some gel and pull it back, or they cut it completely.

If it's a bit messy, it's morel ikely guyish I guess, but I don't really see anything wrong with your hair, not all guys have receding hair lines, although maybe a tiny bit.

I think the *thing* that gives you away is the lack or brow over your eyes, the bone is flat and feminine, if it was taken forehead, you'd probably pass.
Guys usually look as if their eyes are being pushed down by their brows.

Another thing is, probably fuller eyebrows could help.

I know someone who used make up or attached something to make stubble to pass, maybe also using some eye shadow above the eyes to make them have the appearance of the brow closing in on them.

but it needs to be really gentle for it to work , not obviously make up.

I think you could pass VERY well just by acting masculine. If you could make your eyebrows look bigger tht might help as well as bulking up your shoulders a bit.
  •

Nathan.

I'd drop the earings, if you don't want to loose the piercing you can stretch as that looks pretty masculine. Some guys can get away with earings like that but if you're female bodied it will go against you.

You look better in the second pic, I'd say you pass as a young guy, but your eyebrows look thin.

You might consider using some of that stuff gals use on their eyelashes, on your eyebrows to thicken 'em up a bit.

I find my eyebrows are getting thicker on T, I like it.

DO NOT USE Mascara user eye liner a brown. Like Alex says thicken them up not to much just a bit..

i think your neck kindof looks feminine.  it seems to taper up from your shoulders to your head.  it seems that a lot of guys have more of a consistent thickness from shoulder to skull.  i think alex_c exercises his neck.  maybe try that?

it seems like a lot of times it helps to have a bulky upper body.

Heh. Don't be like me and keep wondering, "Did this guy just make a pass at me? Naw...whoa, there he goes again...was that a pass? Naw...wait a minute, was that a 'friend' gesture, or is he really hitting on me? Naw..."

It's been a LONG time since I was single.

And, by the way, I think you could be read pretty successfully as a teenage boy, Chrissyboy. Especially if you do the deadpan thing.

Seriously I'm beginning to appreciate (as in like) the fact that so many FTMs are into other FTMs because I wouldn't mind being make-out buddies with some of the cute ones.  >:-)

i think taken out the earrings would make a huge difference.
