Hey, I'm Elijah

I am a pre T, Pre opp transguy, kinda genderqueer.. but I still wan't to pass as male.

I have a youtube if you wanna see it
http://www.youtube.com/user/bunnybuf3291

as you can tell, I don't pass too well. I m not too short.. so height isnt much of an issue, it is mostly my face and voice, other then that I have feminine hips, but I can hide those, and I think my boobs are I dunno an A cup? I really should try on a bra so I can know what size I really am.

anyway, new to the site, hoping to get some advice and make friends..

oh, does Elijah fit me? I love the name, and everyone at college calls me that.. but It still seems a bit odd to me, someone told me that it takes a while to get used to a new name. I've always wanted the name Edmund, but thought it was a bit TOO different to sound real.

I am in college, and don't pass well at all ugh.. real confidence dropper.

You need 15 posts for activate most of your account's abilities.

As for names, no one can really help you with that but you. I know it's hard, believe me, but it's something you need to do on your own. If you wish to be called Edmund, then go for it.

I dated a guy whose brother was named Edmund.

I always thought it was a nice name.
And ripe with potential for diminutive names [Ed, Eddie..]

Welcome to Susan's. I'll look forward to talking to you on here.

IMO, Elijah's a feminine name. Edmund isn't all that uncommon where I live though.

You don't look very feminine to me.

I like both the names Elijah and Edmund, but with "Elijah" most people will think of Elijah Wood, probably. :P It's still a good name. Edmund isn't a very unusual name, and you could always just go by Ed.

I think you look passable in an androgynous emo-boy way; you look kinda like a cis guy friend of mine. If/when you get on T, it'll drop your voice and then I bet you'd pass most if not all the time pretty quick.

yea, thats ok though.. I love elijah wood.. and I think I like how the name is pretty rare.

I can't wait to get on T

oh and not to be creepy, but you are extremely attractive, like.. crazy handsome

I agree with Kvall.

Hello Elijah. As for if the name fits you- that's for you to decide. If you feel it fits you- than it fits!

Since you're in college I assume you're 18 or older, which means it shouldn't be too hard to get on T, but it depends on your area... do you have a therapist working with you on gender related stuff?

nope, no therapist.. to be honest I have no idea how to start with that, I live in north carolina.  How long do you have to go to therapy in order to get the T letter?

I also don't have a job, so can't really afford a therapist

3 months is the usual minimum, but it's a *recommended* minimum and depending on the therapist it might depend on whether you both think you are ready.

As for therapy, if you're in college, do you have health insurance?  My therapy is paid for under my college health insurance.

Hey, I live in North Carolina too. I went online and searched for recommendations of transgender therapist in my area. Once I got some names I looked up the different psychologist covered under my insurance to see if any of them were covered. By luck a psychologist with experience with transgender patients- and was recommended- was covered. I contacted him, talked some and set up an appointment.

As for how long you have to be in therapy before getting on T it depends on your situation, your therapist and other things. I believe the norm is 1-3 months of regular visits.
