Live: Obama Signs the Hate-Crimes Measure

A moment more than 10 years in the making, beginning at 2:30 pm ET, Advocate.com will live stream President Barack Obama signing into law the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act.

After the signing, beginning at 6 p.m., Advocate.com will also live stream the president's reception in the East Room of the White House beginning at 6 p.m. ET to commemorate the enactment of the hate-crimes law. Attending will be Atty. Gen. Eric Holder and a broad spectrum of civil rights leaders, including LGBT advocates.
