I agree with Cindi.  Even if things turn around, it will takes years, maybe decades to undo the damage that has been done.

    Peace.

With the current administration, and societies attitude of being lambs of the government, it will only get worse.  we became a fascist state when the patriot act and the military commissions act were allowed to be passed by our puppet of a president.  We are allowing our country to be run by weapons cartels like Rummsfeld.  Our country is not only violating our own constitution, but international law as well, and why does the UN allow it you ask?  oh yeah, we are the big bully of the world and no one will mess with us out of fear.  We became the fascist state by allowing our government to rule us by fear.

a few words to think on:

Those who would give up personal liberties for some personal safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
-Benjamin Franklin

This all did just happen, our citizens have allowed it because society is a bunch of sheep.  We will never be able to fix these problems until we can get the citizens to grow a backbone.

QuoteThat being said, I do not believe we are seeing echoes of Nazi Germany and those who throw the term Nazi about loosely only diminishes the history attached to it.  We still can make a difference and should do so every chance we get.  Pull the levers [etc etc... ]

- Hitler was appointed to lead the nation. He was not elected to that position.
- The supreme court mandated that Bush had won the election.

IE: they were both 'voted in' according to one convention or other.

You say you wanna Revolutio-on, we-ell, ya know-oh-whoa: we all wanna change the World...
You tell me it's the Constitutio-on, we-ell, ya know-oh-whoa: we all wanna change the Words.

I say we drag the nasty blowhards from their offices and shove their heads into something roundish porcelain and smelly.

But, of course, we should be polite about it.
