Robin.

I am under the impression that hormones will make my face look more feminine. Is that right?
And if so: I barely have any "brow-bossing" is it possible that could be disguised by taking hormones?
And maybe the little chin-dimple-thing i have too?

I've noticed that my skin texture is a bit different (softer) and the facial hair growth has slowed a bit.

Other than that, I haven't noticed any major differences

I've only been on HRT for a few weeks though

If you have brow bossing, you will have brow bossing after hormones too.
You will need a surgery to remove and fix it.

If it's little brow bossing, it won't interfere with your passing though, against to what people always say, girls can have somewhat brow bossing  and even quite a bit of it (emma watson being one example and there are people with much more that is shown more on profile too.)

But it's rarely as much as is common in men (men can have quite a bit) and probably never as much as as Hugh Laurie (House M.D. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugh_Laurie )

That being said, if it's little you might feel a bit of an ape but will be able to pass.

You must do facial hair removal though, laser or electrolysis.
If you have little hair you can hide it with make up (worked for me before lasering, and when coming to a support meeting people asked me if I am ftm before testosterone sometimes due to my boyish choice of cloths - other people thought I'm just any other girl)

Fat moves around the face, muscles disappear in the face too, skin changes and ta da! you look girly.. or something weird.
It might be enough but you might have to turn to the help of surgery. (chin, nose and forehead being probably the most important skeletal parts in the face, I think people usually over-do the jaw thingy)

Not really. Sometimes HRT can soften the skin which makes the skin look more transparent but unless you look fairly feminine facially to start with it's fairly limited as to what can be done wihout surgical interverntion.

Well hormones main thing, is subcutanious fat, and other fat redistribution... it CAN help change your face shape, but wont change the bone structure... disguise it? possible.

For me, my face looks entirely different, to the extent where people don't recognise me. It reduced the facial hair i had till i rarely shaved, and dont now. Will it change your face? no. Can it? yeah, possibly.

Well, i look somewhat femenine anyways, My nose is really Fem exept a barely noticiable slightly elevated ridge. My Forehead is iffy IDK. But my cheecks are pretty Fem not to mention rather blushed most of the time. And I have nice lips, in fact its funny how much I appreciate them now considering ppl used to make fun of me for having red lips when I was a kid, saying things like, "you look like you wearing lipstick."  :)

Folks made fun of my lips because they are plump like a girls lips. They would say very rude things in reference to wanting sexual favors.

No favors were granted and I love putting on lipstick now  :icon_chick:

I have been blocking T for about 6 months and on E for about 4 months. I notice a change in my face. Softer, hair doesn't grow as fast and my lips became fuller. I look a little more feminine but don't look female with just that. In time fat will redistribute a bit so who knows.

This subject seem to be coming up alot lately and my personal view is there are some it works wonders we all know of many on here but some if it is age or lack of receptors or just too masculine to begin with really have one alternative and that is find a good ffs surgeon, save the money and make the face fit.

There are many low cost ffs surgeons who do wonders it just is a matter of what is important to you.

And some suggest it is better to wait for hormones to have it's full effect on the face before doing surgery. Not sure when you can tell you have the full effect, though.

Progesterone cream cream reduces the thickness of my skin -- it becomes less "swollen".  I can see the bone sturucture more clearly.  For example, my nose has a bump on one side and it becomes noticable straight on.  It appears smaller though.  Cortizone has a similar effect.

Andro characteristics should retract overtime if the androgens are removed.  That could take years however for something such as bony protrusions.  Estrogen should "feminize" the face.  My cheekbones seem to be drifting away from the andro extreme quickly.

I do think in the majority of cases FFS is the only solution.

I've definitely noticed a difference, over a two year period. A lot of people that I have not seen in a while also notice the difference. Its subtle, but for me my cheeks are fuller and without the hairy face a lot softer, but again everyone is different...

Another change I have experienced with estradiol is movement of my occipital bone (the back of the triangle in the skull).  It is about 3/4's of a centimeter from the appex now.

This change has been recognized as a "hair came back on the back of my head".  Weird.   :)

I been on hormone for to 2 years about 3 months legally. I had little boost going on the presciption even a low dose that I'm on. These are pics of me the first 2 from 2009 the next 2008, and the last 2006.
These bad pics but only thing I had available but they show some changesin the face and maybe next year I might pass enough to go full time.

I'd say you look passable in the far left photo, and any doubts would be subsided by a little makeup.

I googled "brow-bossing" and FFS came up.  The image reminded me of someone who had come into a restaurant I was managing years ago.  The concept had only crossed my mind once or twice.  But it made me so mad what my employees had said about her.  ->-bleeped-<-in idea.  It make me glad I was fired.
