I considered myself a furry for a while, before realizing that I was just Otherkin (long story) I am a fan of fursuiting, but thats about it. Fursonas are ok, I never made one myself.
So is anyone out there a Furry fan??

I've been a fur for well over a decade now. I feel I have earned my gray-muzzle.
Artist, writer and fan-fic, zines, worked conventions et all.

Shanawolf is the result of the fandom and has become my complete alter ego.

Otherkin is understandable, I could say I fall under that category in certain ways.
One of the greatest experiences I ever had was at Mid-west Fur-fest in 2006. It was a sig on Furry Spirituality.
One of the most powerful experiences in my life, and this from a ULC minister. ;)

i'm just a noob, at where i (starting to) understand my animal side, the one that wants to run free (and be lazy often  ^-^)
Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur. Happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr, purr, purr.

Furries can be any and all kinds. Scalies, mammals, what have ya.  I know many that are hybrids of different species. It's what ever you want.

I like the (tame) furry art. Mixing species like that is interesting (and how far can it be pushed?)

Not sure I understand what you mean by How far can it be pushed?  The fandom is pretty much what you make of it. Being furry means something different to each person in the fandom.  For me and my mates it's not a hobby it's a lifestyle. I know many that consider it just a hobby. I've always been a furry, long before I even knew there was a fandom.

An exfriend did this for me and my hubby for our anniversary a year or so ago. Our anniv is halloween so that is the style of background he gave it.

I meant how much nonhuman you can mix with a human until it looks bad. And there are so many different ways to do it, different features, practicalities of certain things and different species. It's fun to mess around with.

Ahh ok gotcha. My BF created a race called Sanalie which are a wolf/lynx hybrid. They are mostly lynx with some wolf attributes. Some of the race has human bloodlines as well. He's written 1 book so far about the race and will be writing a 2nd one. One of my fursona's is a Sanalie, which will be a char in his new book.  One thing I love about the fandom is it's diversity.

I used to dable in the fandom, but found it wasn't for me.

I would post some art, but... wouldn't want to be recognized, hah.

I often play D&D 3.5 as a catkin (anthro cat), and I like looking at some of the PG-13 furry art, and I have a cat ear headband and a tail that I wear to anime cons.

I think some furries are kinda hot.  Though my wife disapproves of me thinking such things.  She doesn't understand the appeal.  To behonest, I don't understandthe appeal either, it just appeals to me.  Mostly I like foxes!  I also like human girls with fox ears and tails!  It's not a sexual thing for me, like most people seem to think all furriness is lol!  I just find furries interesting, and a few of them I find quite attractive.  *shrugs* Not sure what else to say.

Depending on how wide you cast your definition, yes I'm a furry.
I really do enjoy anthropomorphic art.

It really depends on you Miniar. I know folks who like the art but do not consider themselves furry.

Tristan, I know folks who have left the fandom for various reasons. It's a personal choice and no one should hassle you over it. It's something you chose and I respect that.

Otherkin are people who believe themselves to be something other than a human being on a spiritual, psychological, energetic and some even on a biological level, and choose to identify with that non-human fragment of themselves to the point where they count it as a permanent and ingrained part of their personal mythology and/or identity.

A fursona is like an "alter ego" of a furry. His "fursona" is the character s/he plays/wishes to be. Often as a part of roleplay, short stories, and other interaction and art.

Fursuiting = dressing up as a fursona.

Wow... its a bit complex huh? Not sure i get the otherkin stuff, but the rest seems reasonably harmless, Though i heard weird things about furries...
  •

Miniar

The otherkin stuff.. I can explain it like this...

I, for example, believe that I've had many past lives.
I believe that the first of those lives "I" was created as a non-human entity.
I believe my soul is still of that original species, and "not human".
