Anyone in the Furry Fandom?

I don't pretend to understand, it's not a concept or belief that I'm remotely familiar with. But If you truely belive that, I am not one to say otherwise. We would all be hypocrites if we made statements well above our ability to understand in the universe.

Fursuiting is wearing costumes based on your fursona. Some are full body, some are partials. Think sports mascots, just in very exspensive and highly detailed suits. I have mine on order but it wont be started untill Mar 2010.  Most furries don't fursuit, maybe like 30% or so?  Many more might but suits range from around $1,000-$2,500 give or take.  Many have no interest in fursuits at all, but that doesn't make them any less a furry.

Yes much of what you have heard about furries is true I'm sure lol  Just remember that stereotypes are just that and they do not cover everyone.

Recently attended a UK based FurCon called Confuzzled. Was my first con too and just so happened to have a very nice time there too.

I don't necessarily describe myself as "a furry," but I'm definitely very fond of  anthropomorphic art~ I have a fursona and hordes of anthro characters. However, for whatever reason, the term "furry" as an identity descriptor never quite felt like it clicked for me, so I usually go with "anthro artist" instead. Maybe my reasoning there is that the community that got me into anthro art doesn't generally use the word furry, either, so I've been familiar with "anthro" for longer. *shrugs*

Terminology aside, though, I immensely enjoy drawing anthro art and draw myself as a purple lynxfox more often than as a human-- interpret that as you will. |D

Wow, there's kind of a whole universe out then in the interwebs...I'm interested in what being a furry actually means, it seems like a descriptive label that kind of lacks on the description part. hehe.

You should see my bench where I work... While most of the guys who work with me have pictures of semi naked women straddling a car, I happen to have a rather nice artists rendition of a Pliosaur and a lovely little T-Rex and Raptorex comparison. And a couple of alligator pictures. 

I wouldn't say that I have no interest in fur, it's just that a huge majority of people within the fandom [I hate using that word, it's more like a hobby is anything if you ask me but eh...] tend to adopt an anthropomorphic persona and I couldn't quite see myself as a cute and cuddly mammal. Hence the reptile guise. It's all down to personal preference really.
