Hi,
I have recently switched from a moderate dose of Spiro to a once a month injection of depo-provera (medroxyprogesterone). Also a moderate dose. My libido has been restored after a 5 year hiatus, and it feels good. It seems that at least some people under the transgender umbrella prefer to have no libido, which is fine. I don't hate my penis as much as what a "man" is expected to do with it. I like having access to the nerve endings residing there, no matter it's physical expression at the moment. I also like having the occasional spontaneous sexual fantasy.
Now, it is my understanding that Spiro works by jamming the receptors for testosterone, while not actually activating them. Over time, the boys stop recieving signals to produce more T, and begin to shrink. Depo works to chemically castrate you. It shuts off all production of T, while the Depo itself can be converted to a low, female level of T. This can produce the increased libido.
I find that this is much better for my feelings and sheer joy of life. But I am concerned if Spiro has some end results that are better? Any ideas?
