Robin.

Is it just a myth that by shaving, for example the beard, more hair grows back?

Oh.... And can anything be done to reduce hair growth other than HRT...... but won't make you go bald or anything.  :P

Thicker as in more hair, or the hair(singular) itself is thicker?

The hair itself is thicker. You wont gain additional hair.

Shaving will not cause more hair, thicher yes but not more.  HRT helps the body hair to come in finer.  Head hair will come in thicker, if you have not been already cursed with MPB.

So far I only have a little reccesion on the left and right, if it gets no worse its hideable for now.

.....If its thicker is it more easily removed by electro?

That you would need to contact a electrologist about, but the thickness should not matter.  With laser it is the color, electrolosis I don't think it matters.

Somehow that's a rumor that go started !

The hair will NOT grow back thicker, or will you get more of it.
It only feels thicker because after you shave your feeling the strongest  part of the hair (the stub)  instead or the whole thing. Hair taper from thick to thin at the tip. If it grow in thicker ,and more of it All the bald people would be shaving everyday ! instead of using Minoxidil !

It will still appear thicker. It's not actually getting thicker, nor are more of them growing in(which is a myth), but it will still look like it has gotten thick because when you shave a hair follicle you're cutting it at half growth, which exposes the thicker portion of the hair itself.

Since shaving my peach fuzz, it has appeared thicker and more coarse. Letting it grow out hasn't changed the appearance of it being thick or feeling coarse.

The secret word, is, indeed, 'appear.'
The hairs won't get thicker, but, since you'll be cutting off the thin part, it will look thicker. And that's that. :P

Myself

Shaving does not make the hair thicker either.
There was a whole research about it actually! too bad I don't have the link.

Shaving doesn't affect the root of the hair even in the slightest! and the new hair doesn't come from the end, it comes from underneath the skin.

No change AT ALL.

It seems as if because suddenly all hair grows back the same.

And laser has been only improving apparently... Their range of pigments or hair type/skin type to work with has increased methinks...
