I notice a lot of guys tend to grow "neck beards" before actually filling out on the face...for those of you on T, was this true for you, and how long (if at all) did it take for you to grow a "proper" beard?

i definitely have a neck puny beard.   not thick at all.  just hair around the adams apple and under chin.  10.5 months on T and not even near a full beard.

1.7 months on t. thicker side burns mutton chop style and under chin. Mustache heavier on one side than the other,(majorly different)
and fur under the chin and on the neck.  Mostly grey unfortunately.

I'm envious of even the sideburns; I'm coming up on 8 weeks on T now and still no real facial hair, outside of it grows faster now.

I have sideburns and I can grow a full neck beard except the middle doesn't grow for some reason I was told by my bio male mate to keep shaving..

18 months on T.

This is happening to me. My body hair is very fine and blonde so I didn't even notice it at first. I was in my car and the sun hit it just right. I was surprised how much was there and how long it was. :o It was definitely time for a shave. My neck will itch alot too.

I'm getting some sideburn hair and some above the lip but that's it so far. Nothing real long or noticeable aside from neck hair. Is it normal for bio-males' facial hair to come in neck first? I got the impression it was the upper lip and chin.

My girlfriends little brother is going through the beginning stages of puberty now and his hair is starting on his upper, lip, sideburns, and neck.

I have more of an Amish beard.  See avatar.  I've been on T 18 months.

To quote from another forum:

Neckbeard never stops growing."

Still, if the neck portion starts growing first, I'm shaving it. I have a feeling it's going to be the moustache and chin area first, though.

I had hair on my chin and upper lip before T, and when I went on T, that hair got thicker, though what I noticed coming in first was sideburns, probably about a month in. My facial hair really seemed to grow out from my chin, so while I had a decent bit of neck hair, it was mostly toward my chin. I've been able to grow a good beard since about 2 months on T, but it's only recently started filling in completely between the soul patch and chin... just goes to show that T keeps working its magic well past the first few months. I've been on about 17 months now, and it's going well.

First: Neckbeard sounds like a great name for some sort of movie/video game villain.

Second: Yep, mine came in neck-first, for the most part.  It started out thickest on the sides of my chin, and then on the sides of my neck/bottom of my jaw, then along my jawline and sideburns.  Just peach fuzz on my upper lip so far, though.  When I went on T, the sideburns and jawline regions of facial hair connected, and started spreading up and out over my cheeks.  Additionally, it all got thicker.  And yet...still no upper lip hair!  This puts a serious damper on my plans for a handlebar mustache...

Pre-T I already had a bit of hair under my chin/neck then about 2months in my sideburns really kicked in although the left side is a bit thicker then the right.  After about 4/5months it rly started to thicken around the jawline and at 8 months now (<==== see pic) its now starting to fill in, nearly joining my upper lip, although that is taking quite a while to grow.  Mine happened rly fast which im rly happy about.  I had a bald patch under my chin for a while but that has now filled in.

11 months on T here and not even near a full 'stache, let alone a neck beard.  *grumble*

I'm pretty sure it's going to come in on my upper lip and chin first.  I have slightly darker peach fuzz there that grows faster than the rest of the peach fuzz on my face.  I have a scattered few dark hairs coming in on the sideburn region.  Underneath my chin has been getting fuzzier lately, but it's still in the 'thick peach fuzz' stage.

Pre t and I have quite a bit of neckhair but I think I grow hair around my chin first. If I had more t in my system I could probably grow a full beard.
