I agree. I've never understood why people are seemingly unable to mind their own business. As to the concept of "deception" as the anti-trans people would allege, the only type of deception that could occur is if a trans person entered a relationship and intentionally lied about their background. Even then, people have the right to discuss what they want and leave out what they don't want even in long-term relationships as I strongly support people being individuals.
This article caught my attention because just today I got a rather menacing stare by a man in a coffee shop over my nail polish. I'm still pre-transition and wore male clothing but have long hair and pink nail polish. The guy kept endlessly staring and studying my hands and had disgruntled looks on his face almost to the point where I thought he was going to say something. I'm sure he thought I was a "gender bender" just like people allege that non-passable transwomen are "deceiving the public."
It is sad that people's lives are so empty that they actually have time on their hands to care about a stranger's life. I simply couldn't care less what people look like in public let alone how they live their lives. I believe that part of transgender empowerment should therefore include being bold enough to politely tell these characters off. I simply don't tolerate people being in my business and I don't care what they think about me. Period.
