Forgive me for being slightly off-topic, but is there any point in taking finasteride after SRS (for hair loss)?

I've been taking Propecia for longer than I can remember... probably 10 years by now?... and haven't noticed any side-effects. It did halt and slightly reverse my hair loss in the beginning, but I have no idea if it's still having any effect. I'm just afraid to find our the hard way by quitting it and losing hair :(

In my completely uneducated opinion... I can't see why it would.

Male Pattern Baldness happens because of high levels of DHT in genetically susceptible people. After SRS, I would think your T and consequently your DHT levels wouldn't be high enough to cause it anymore.

That's what I'd hope too ;)

It's just that I believe that females bald in a different pattern than males, making me wonder if my "male" follicles are more vulnerable to the remaining DHT, even though the levels must be rather low now.

I was taking the regular dose for hair loss of 1mg per day.

I had taken six of the Propecia (one per day)

Well, so much for my reading comprehension... i originally read this as 6 per day  :D

I was gently reminded by one of the moderators that I shouldn't be talking about drug dosages... sorry about that, I'll try to remember in future.

Hi Meow

Can you provide us with an update on the side effects from Propecia you experienced?

Did the depression eventually lift?
