You look very androgynous now.  May be do the eyebrows, thin them out a little.

Do you think makeup of any kind would help like foundation or eyeliner e.t.c, and ill try shaping my eyebrows ^^

Maybe a power foundation to even out skin tones.

I agree with Janet. you definitly look very androgenous.  I actually tried to guess if you were bio male or female and have no idea. (I know it shoudn't matter, but its like a game I play in my head sometimes...)

Same as all have said. And do not pull your hair back, the last picture was blaringly male for me. A more androgynous haircut may work once you have more hair to work with. Try looking at scene girls hair, those are beautiful haircuts, very layered, very cute. Long bangs will also work to hide your very male nose and eyebrows. Earrings. Clothing will also help.
Hardly online anymore. You can reach me at http://cosyoucantbuyahouseinheaven.tumblr.com/ask

I think you should maybe try moving your hair parting more towards the centre. I've noticed as a general thing in society, males with side partings tend to have them really far to the right/left where as women have them closer to the middle. Doing this could make people subconsciously percieve you as more feminine.

some eyeliner could help to visually confuse and add to the andro look. Thinning the eyebrows could help...but don't go too far or you'll end up more fem than andro.
I've been playing with some make up techniques on my mate. (MtF) we put a bit of light concealer on the sides of her nose and blend it in really well with a light foundation and it gives the appearence of a thinner nose. Seems to me that men have a wider nose bridge. I'm not sure if that's ACTUALLY true or not...but it seems to me that it is. *shrugs* HTHs
I'm also the spouse to the fabulous Mrs. Cynthialee.

You look androgynous leaning towards male, but the lean will lessen with longer hair.  But part of it is that I know so many emo guys with similar hairstyles, and no girls, even though I think in reality a lot of girls have hairstyles like that.

As others have mentioned, I would recommend having your eyebrows done, as well. There's no need to go THIN, but a more arched/groomed look with any stray hairs cleared out of the way would give you more polished and less 'dude' of a look without being femme. I'm pretty sure they do waxing/plucking in most salons and malls, and from what I remember you're allowed to actually pick a 'type' of eyebrow shape/thickness, and even the widest of those will usually be more upkept looking than a persons natural browgrowth- similarly to long hair, one can grow their hair out very long and it still won't be as 'even' looking as someone with the same length who has the ends trimmed to be even now and again. The other nice thing about the eyebrows is, once you have them cleaned up professionally, it's usually pretty easy to just maintain them after that with your own pair of tweezers at home every now and again as the hairs grow back. Also, while lipgloss or lipstick might push you towards the 'femme' end of the spectrum, I don't think one of those  glossy/moisturizing or even slightly tinted chapsticks would, (I use lipbalms pretty constantly myself, and some of them are definitely more emollient and glossy than others, even if they aren't advertised as such!) and it would help keep your lips more supple.

Your forehead is more male looking, but so long as your hair is down and the forehead is obscured by bangs, your appearance is more balanced. Speaking of hair, you wear it pretty far to the side, have you ever considered bobby-pinning some of it? I think actual barrettes might be a bit too 'chick'ish, but bobby pins are pretty... Well, they're more unisex/nondescript, though the use of them will feminize, I think, at least slightly. And growing your hair long will probably improve a lot, too- mostly because it looks like you actually TAKE CARE of your hair, which keeps you from looking like 'some dude with gross tangled, dry, damaged long hair'. If you maintain your hair as it grows and keep it silky/shiny, I think that that will add to your appearance a whole lot.

I think you look somewhat androgynous already, at least by your pictures, but leaning toward the male end of that spectrum, needless to say, some 'femme'y touches would probably even that out a bit more. Another thing I would suggest is some kind of neckwear(though I don't know if the weather where you are would permit it)- I'm female, and I know my slender/'swan' like neck combined with other female-markers gives that away when I allow it to be really evident, and I imagine the same often goes for people with necks that look more obviously male, for both of those types wishing to remain obscure, some kind of neckwear usually helps. I personally like to wear scarves or mandarin collars, turtlenecks, collared shirts done up with tie, silk kerchief tied around the neck, et cetera. You can get really fancy/pretty or subdued with those, as well, as per your tastes. :)  Hope some of this turns out to be useful.

Hi all,

I'm new here, but this is something that's really striking a chord with me. I'm male but prefer to appear female given the chance. This isn't practical a lot of the time so I'm wanting to appear more androgynous in my day-to-day life. I am short and slight and have fairly asexual features (not pretty, but not terribly well defined in terms of gender) and I have been mistaken as a woman on a few occasions without trying. So I figure it would be great to keep people guessing. My plan is to get a unisex haircut (thought more towards the femme end of unisex) which isn't outlandish and is fairly presentable. Add earrings and maybe having my petite hands slightly manicured and I think I'd cause some confusion which I'd love

Does anyone have any ideas of hairstyles that would work like this? I've been thinking of something like a pixie cut, but I'm open to offers. I have red hair

Hey, you look pretty great already!  As others have mentioned above I think having your eyebrows shaped (go to a proper salon and have them done, then the stylist can show you how to maintain it yourself.  If you feel awkward going and asking for a feminine shape, remember, this is their job, and I can promise you that a man asking for feminine brows is completely tame compared to some of the requests they get!  :P) will go a long way, as will mascara and eyeliner.  To avoid looking like you're just a guy in girl's makeup, try starting out using a black or dark brown eyeliner pencil and drawing a line on the upper lid from the outside of the eye to about a third of the way in, then on the lower lid from the outside to about halfway or two-thirds of the way in- then smudge it a bit.  It'll look more or less feminine depending on how thick/noticable you draw the line.
I also agree with the hair part line- moving it a bit closer to centre would make it closer to a female cut.
Not about your hair or face- as you're pretty tall, cuffed jeans are androgynous and can make you look a bit shorter if you want.  When your hair grows out a few more inches I think you'd look great in a Jamie Bower-style cut!
I think you'd look a lot softer if you smiled!  ;D

You look pretty androgynous to begin with. From here, I'd just focus on whatever makes you feel most attractive/well-dressed and what you think portrays you well as a person.

I can't say I'm in the camp recommending you get a scene kid haircut, though. We've got enough of those haircuts in the world already.  ;D That's my personal taste talking, of course.

Smile. You don't have to show teeth, but it brings up your cheeks and gives a more feminine appearance.

Also, hoop earrings. Not big gaudy ones, but smaller ones are not usually seen on guys. Or colored studs, rather than cz/onyx/gold like guys do. Pick your favorite color.

A couple ideas occurred to me:
Loose and billowy long-sleeved shirts, like something Morrissey might wear, can look quite attractively andro.
Also, a scarf tied around the neck as a tie or loose choker can look very nice. This can look anywhere from normatively masculine to normatively feminine, depending on how you tie it, what the scarf looks like and what material it's made of. A long, narrow wool scarf in cool gray won't turn heads; a huge square semi-transparent refined silk scarf with a colorful art nouveau print certainly might. All a matter of how flamboyant you want to be. :)

I have noticed that there are huge amount of different kinds of tunics. So combining a tunic with slim male shirt and jeans is what I wear at the moment. If I want to have more feminine look I wear female jeans. Or even leggings with knee high boots.

Since this is still going, there's no question you look male.

But you've got a very feminine lower face, so lots of potential.
