When society is ridden with inequality and prejudices of all kinds, we pin high hopes on the educational institution to be a progressive force to broaden the minds of the young and pave the way for change.

So far, it has been an empty hope.

The recent decisions by the University Rectors Council to force transsexuals to dress as male students for graduation ceremonies show that these so-called educators cannot fulfil our expectations as change agents, but also how far they are behind the times.
