Regarding the Register's Jan. 10 article, "Searching Their Souls: Can Church Include Transgendered?":

Surely someone could have used a little common sense and compassion at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Student Center and simply asked Susan McIntyre to stop using church letterhead paper. She was doing good work counseling those who are needy, but she needed to be clear with her clients that she was not representing the official church doctrine.

There's no sense in kicking her out of the office and firing her over this issue. Which of course made everyone wonder if it all is really is due to her sinful state of being a transgendered person. If the church is going to kick out everyone who might be sinful, it will be a pretty empty church and rectory.
