Masculine earrings?

I have 4 ear piercings, though two of them I'm letting close. (They were a menarche present so it seemed appropriate) I don't want the other two to close though, so I'm going to buy earrings. But I don't want any that will make me look girly. What kind of earrings would look less girly? I'm considering gauging them, would that work?

It depends on what style you have. If you're leaning towards an emoish look then plain titanium/silver studs are ok. Sometimes tiny thin hoops. It really depends on how well you pass. If you're more preppy then gauging/stretching is a good idea. Plain, simple earrings are usually masculine enough. Try checking out what guys in your area are wearing.

I have gauged (though rather small gauged) earrings I am going to put back in. I think they look more masculine. Waiting until I pass a bit more first.
They are circles with balls or I have other things that can go in the middle, part also depends on the job I get.

All the guys I hung around with growing up, who had piercings had them gauged. (tech people, gamers, and stoners; mostly.) I guess it really depends on what sort of social groups you're in, but big wooden plugs don't really scream 'girl' to me. Not in the slightest.

I'm actually trying to figure out what to do with my six piercings (three in each ear...) and am considering gauging all of them! lol.

Try staying away from stones. You probably want something plain or a pattern on them that looks masculine, no stuff that's going to dangle. If you want something that's going to hang off then go for small hoops.

I'm looking for a new pair myself, seeing as I lost a good pair of small hoop earrings two years ago. Been wearing my studs that I got when they were first pierced, which is no good as they look feminine because they've got a birthstone. Thinking about getting that looks something like this in design: http://www.timelesssilver.com/shop/index.php?productID=39814

I figured Id step in here and give some advice XD

KK, you can guage them, but go with something like this. in stainless... and try to stick with same color or black stones.

Or you can use plain Stainless steel studs...

If your daring you can also go for gold... but remember, guys tend to avoid softer colors... So Stainless, black, gunmetal, gold... but never never never silver.

Unless you're into celtic men's jewelry, go to renfaires, hang out with the 'gamer' population, etc...

 sorry. I've just seen a lot of nice men's jewelry in silver, worn by a lot of guys.

Silver

Maybe small dark spheres. Not noticeable at all. Or, only one simple earring (dark again, no huge sparkly nonsense. Unless it's diamond.) in the left ear. Left ear- masculine. Right ear- gay. Both ears- Debatable.

Summary- Diamond stud in the left ear is masculine, or something small and plain.

Ooh, menarche presents. As a celebration of menarche? Why? It's a bit like a curse that strikes in the teens and follows you.

Lol, my mom's idea, NOT mine. I wasn't out at the time. (and was very very in denial)

I don't know any non-transgendered females that enjoy it. They all hate it.

You obviously haven't met my mom. I'm beginning to think that a lot of my disdain for the spiritual is in part because of being exposed so much to the "sacred feminine" whatever. Lol.
Back on topic, I'm looking at something like this: http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=3900181

There's a difference between stainless steel and silver, besides the "one is silver and one is iron" thing?

Yeah, it is.
Will never understand the people who think it's a 'gift'.. *shudders*

People celebrate that? Ew.

Anyway, Aaron, those look nice but they might also come off looking feminine if you aren't passing undeniably, which is a problem with stones I find. If you like them, though, then by all means get them.

I know, right? My mom was all "it's so special and mystical and you're becoming a woman and blah blah blah" and I'm thinking "WTF I AM BLEEDING ARE YOU CRAZY?"

Lol, good times... not.

I'm gonna go to the place where I got them pierced maybe day after tomorrow and see what they've got.

I knew a guy who made jewelry

He made gauge ear studs in the shape of a penis with the balls as backings behind the ear lobe  ::)

Silver reflects light softly. I used to run with some pretty masculine people... not a one would wear silver in there ears.
