CHENNAI: Transgenders in the State are planning to approach Chief Minister Karunanidhi to ask for recognition and celebration of January 18 as their day.

The transgender community will conduct a signature campaign in the State and present it to the CM. Besides, they will request him to launch a pension scheme for them beyond 40 years of age.

"There is still a stigma in the public about our community.
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." Oscar Wilde
