More serious than it may sound, the Northwest-based documentary "Sissyboy" zeros in on the vulnerabilities in a Portland drag-queen troupe that visits Seattle and San Francisco on its final West Coast tour.

One member is a former meth addict who thinks his life was saved by gender-bending. Another nearly drank himself to death when his brother committed suicide.

Others talk about the transformative nature of ditching traditional sex roles, and the lack of parental acceptance of their differences. One of the most articulate members discusses his love-hate relationship with drag.
