I thought I understood the requirements for legal doc changes.
Will an orci letter from Dr. Bowers stating I have had "irreversible genital surgery"  am I am now female work for:
Social security
Passport
Ammended birth certificate

I thought I knew but I have found some conflicting info. Her letter does not talk about the orci.

Mine stated that I had a bilateral orchidectomy.  And it also stated that it was an irreversible genital surgery.  Social Security has marked my gender as female.  I have not yet changed the birth certificate as it costs $140 to get a court order.  In Oregon you have to have a court order to make changes.

I don't have a passport as of yet.

Based on my experience, you can change them all.

Thanks Janet Lynn. I talked to Dr. Bower's office today (she will do my orci) and they seemed to think their letter would work. It says nothing about the orci just " irreversible gentital surgery" and that the individual should be designated a female. I was hoping someone could share some actual experience with SSA and the passport people after an orci. I was born in PA and they said they would issue a new birth certificate with this letter. I am moving to Washington state so the DL is absolutely no problem. I just want all my documents to match. I will have SRS in the next year or two so no changes will have to be made if the orci allows me to make all changes. It certainly is irreversible thank goodness.
