How much difference does a couple years make?

How much of a difference can there be if I start HRT around now (can't say age- that should give an idea) as opposed to waiting a few more years?

The younger you are the more "malleable" your body is, meaning that in all probability the changes will happen more quickly and you will masculinize better. I think I'm around your age, maybe a year older and I have been on T for a bit over a month and my changes are happening very quickly, much more quickly I think than they would if I happened to be a few years older.

Depends if your plates have fused yet. Your PCP may be able to tell you if they have.

yeps, depends if plates are fused yet, most likely not much change anymore if you are over 16. While if it was the opposite it might have made much more of a dramatic change to start hormones as the growth plate needs to seal faster rather than let open, they also seal later for the other way around.

So pretty much not much of change but the psychological "I want to start my life" eating you inside, and well, you not being so much of you and are blocked from maturing.

So I'd recommend to try start you life, if you start therapy it will also put you on the countdown for top tumor removal and bring changes sooner

Hmm, I would think what would hurt your passability would be your lack of facial maturity. Femininity is mostly a lack of masculinity, at least in the face.

Like I said, I think it's easier for your path because the difference between men and women is "maturity" look.

Female skull is pretty much like a child skull.
Fat is easily changed later with HRT and while it might become in a more feminine pattern, it's most likely nothing much different than it is now.

Bones are probably fused so.. nothing very difficult to reverse is probably possible to come with estrogen anymore.

The reason I say that it's easy for you then the other way around is because vocal folds changes and bone changes are really hard to change. T just fixes you up. But it's pretty hard to get back.

Yes, most likely the older you get the harder it will be to pass without T. Men age differently from women.
