Hello everyone.

I'm a soon to be 25 yr old trans guy. Birthday is on Friday. I'm pre op. but been on hormones for about 5 years now.
I've made a lot of mistakes in my life. right now i'm trying to stay on the right path, become a better person. i really do not have any trans friends offline. I don't have that kind of support. altho i do have cisgender friends who are supportive and my mom and stepfather are really cool about it. I got a brother who's a social-culture anthropologist who's really open minded to it. but no trans friends. I need friends who really understand what we go thru day in and day out which is why i am here.

I like movies, i want to go to school for visual effects & motion graphics someday right now i'm working on getting my GED. i like music, painting, glass-work... i just love art. reading and writing.
the tv shows I like are true blood, supernatural, house md, bones, ghost whisperer, CSI, CSI Miami, CSI NY, NCSI, NCSI Los Angeles. See a pattern? lol

I live in northern California with my rents right now. I'm on probation until 1/5/2012. So gotta stay put where I am at.  Like i said I made some mistakes in my life. I almost went to prison for. Woke me up. I want to be a better person and just be myself for once. I lived double lives for the longest time.. a good 10 years. I just want someone to love and not judge me for where I've been but what i'm doing now to better myself.

I'm pansexual, queer whatever :) i love people. i try to keep a positive vibe about myself and people around me. I'm a clean hippie, humanist.

If you have any questions, don't be shy i don't bite.. to hard unless you ask me too.

Welcome to Susan's, Mateo.  :icon_flower:

There's a lot of good information and good people here.  Each of our stories is unique but we have a lot in common.  Settle in, pull up a keyboard, and explore.

Be sure to look under the Announcements heading.  There you will find the rules we live by in this little world of ours: "Site Terms of Service and Rules to Live By", "Standard Terms and Definitions", and "Post Ranks".  Look through the other stuff there, too, like "Age and the Forums".

I'm glad for you that you are turning your life around.  I found I had to learn to be a person before I could learn to become a woman.  And, like you, I know almost no trans people IRL.  I've met a few but don't hang out with them.  This forum has helped me in that way - answering questions, listening to me whine, letting me know my experience isn't all that different from others.  I hope you find the same thing for yourself.

Happy exploring. :icon_wave:

Welcome to the group. I also have had my issues with the law mostly for my rage issues that stem from GID.
I did about 9 years in prison on the instalment paln...LOL
Be very happy you avoided prison, not the most friendly neighborhood around.
This is a good site. Lots of diversity. From MTF's like myself to FTM and Andro's and every shade of genderqueer. We do not always agree and we occasonaly even argue enough to get threads shut down but even amongst rivals there is a feeling of family in most cases.
Be true with yourself and us and we will not flame you, we save that for a serious faux pa. Like I said we are a good crew.
Welcome aboard!

So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

Hi Mateo, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 4200 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another brother. :icon_hug:

These are the links that Kate mentioned.

Hugs and Love,
Janet

Wow nine years. I don't know how did it. They were planning on sending me to Dwight state prison. Huge reputation for rape. Women's prison. I'm glad your no longer in that situation also. Stay strong.
I'm glad to have found a place I can be myself. I'm still getting use to just doing that and not having to put a front on anymore. It's liberating in a way.
Thank you
*hugs*
