I was driving to the bank to make a deposit... On the way a bee got sucked into the open window and stung me on my neck  :o

By the time I got home I'd swollen up like the Pillsburry Doughboy and could barely breathe

Lucky I lived at home at the time and my mom called the hospital

The cure was simple... Benadryl allergy formula

Odd way to find out I'd become allergic to bees  :P

Speaking of bees, this fall I was walking on the sidewalk, talking animatedly to my friend, and I gestured to make a point. At that EXACT MOMENT a yellowjacket flew directly into my finger and stung the crap out it. And then I had to sit in class for an hour and a half with a throbbing finger.
haha you should hear mine...was walking across a bridge with my friend when a fruitfly thingy got caught into my eye...and after a little commotion my friend finally managed to blow the little bugger out...only to fly into my gaping mouth... >:(

Vegemite is made from spiders?

Who knew? It explains vegemite being Australian I guess.

Please take in the joking manner in which it was meant.
hehehe ^_^

But truth of this matter is much more horrifying than you could imagine. ಠ.ಠ

So it's sausage, politics and vegimite that you shouldn't watch while it's being made?

I had a summer job when I was at Uni at a pork pie making factory. Never ever ever ever have I even got close to eating one since.

Sorry to shatter another urban myth, but Vegemite is made from the by-product of beer brewing. THAT'S why it's good for you!!
I had to remove a huge Huntsman from the bedroom last night when I got home. I trapped it under a glass bowl and then slide a large piece of card under. Held that down hard to keep the rotten thing in, then released it in the flower bed. They are good guys although they look scary.
So far this summer I have killed about a dozen Red-Backs. They are endemic to northern Victoria, along with just about every other spider in creation.
The other one I don't mind is the Orb Weaver. They build huge "Charlotte's Web" type classic spider-webs across the pergola, which look beautiful with the dew on them in the morning. Just don't walk into their web as it is like wire rope!

I've been stung by yellowjackets three times, all in semi-odd locations on my body. Once I was crawling around in the back yard and got stung on the inside of my wrist. Then I was on horseback and reached into a tree for an apricot and got stung in the webbing between my index and middle finger. For my next trick, I was feeding somebody's chickens. I tossed some chicken feed on the ground; when I brought my arm back down, I got stung in the armpit by a wasp that had somehow found its way there. I was howling in pain, but the wasp flew merrily away--I hope, to die in some secret yellowjacket graveyard. >:(

LOL... When a spider or centipede tries to crawl on open ground in the place, my dog will alert me and then point at it

Hunting instinct I guess... LOL

That's a well trained dog.

I really hate visiting my parents...my mum loves spiders and won't remove them from the house...me, I need a certain amount of distance between me and them...several miles should do it.

Aw i think spiders are harmless, apart from the ones who're severely poisonous and can actually kill you if you get bitten lol.
But since were in england i think we've dodged that bullet.
I like them, i can honestly say they dont bother me.
Im usually the one who has to get rid of the if their in the house, but i dont have the heart to kill them so they go on a peice of paper and into the garden =]

I like spiders of the harmless sort also... They are actually helpful

But as prior mentioned we have the Hobo spider AKA The Aggressive House spider which is rather poisonous

On a good note... I became rather interested with spider recognition and learned that the Hobo spiders have spider enemies that will eat them and not harm anyone.... Muahahahaha  >:-)

You could train little spider armies..hehe

Metamorph

All through my childhood i was never afraid of them and i held a couple of tarantulas, theyre like slow moving hamsters to the touch. For some reason though over the last 8 or 9 years ive gone from fine to uncomfortable to moderately scared of them! i cant help but act like ace ventura around a bat when a large house spider scurries along the floor while im chilling on the sofa  :-\

To be honest, anything with more than two legs scares me. Having been desensatized by many things from movies and television, spiders is not one of them...hope that made sense lol.

I found two giant spiders in my home tonight.

Someone hold me.
Don't be scared to fly alone, find a path that is your own
Love will open every door it's in your hands, the world is yours
Don't hold back and always know, all the answers will unfold
What are you waiting for, spread your wings and soar

Wolf Man

I swear that I have arachnaphobia and if not, then a pretty severe fear of spiders.

I could not scroll down on the first page once I got a glimpse of the eyes of that horrid picture Janet posted. I cannot deal with spiders in a rational way. Teeny tiny baby spiders; Small spiders; Medium Spiders = Complete melt down. Whoever forbid I live somewhere or visit somewhere that has these giant spiders I hear about and have unfortunately seen pictures or video of. I think I would pass out from the panic attack I would have. I have enough of one with the aforementioned spiders.

My girl thinks it is absolutely ridiculous, but I cannot help it. I feel like so pathetic.  :embarrassed:
I'll be there someday, I can go the distance
I will find my way, If I can be strong
I know every mile, Will be worth my while

When I go the distance, I'll be right where I belong

I don't mind spiders too much actually I've only ever been bitten by one once and that was because I panicked and kept trying to kill it. I've found if I just leave them alone they leave me alone so now the most I do is put them outside.

I used to be extremely scared of them when I was younger, but now I'm not that bothered. Then again I don't live anywhere that has large amounts of spiders.
